Pulling up his hood, he headed out.
As he ghosted out of there, they didn’t bust his balls. They knew he liked working alone most of the time anyway. Remmy liked to creep.

Rogue was staring at his wife.

She kissed him before he could say anything ridiculous that got him hurt.

Yeah, that was a park he didn’t want her going to, but he was married to a Snake.

From where she sat, Maura was fine with just the two of them heading out.
They knew how to disappear.
“Okay, but I want you to stay in contact, especially if you get anything. If you get more names, we’ll assess the situation. I want to keep Artemis guessing if she’s watching us. We hit fast, and we get out like a Marine.”
They were good with that.
That was how they worked most of the time.
“Uh, I’ll go with the ladies,” Dakota said. “Maybe they need a third person.”
Maura shook her head.
“You’re staying until the next round. Trust me, the Snakes don’t need your help. If anything, you’ll slow them down.”
“HEY!” he said, protesting.
Only, she wasn’t wrong. Eve just didn’t want to say it to his face. Dakota meant well, but he stood out.
