“Ax, I need leverage,” she admitted.

“Against Artemis? Good luck She doesn’t have much you can use. She’s a lone wolf for just that reason. The CIA recruits people who have no ties so they can’t be manipulated.”

Oh, there was one thing that would work, and she’d need some help on that.

She told her.

When she was done, Axelle began laughing.

“Wait? You’re serious?”

“Yep. I’m going to stoop to her level, and I’m going to make sure I get a direct hit. That should do it.”

“Well, yeah, and if you don’t put her down, she’ll be back with a vengeance for this one.”

She shrugged.

“I’m not worried. I promised to always have The Hunters’ backs, and I owe Maura and Jagger. They have always served. If this means making a rogue CIA agent lose it…so be it. I won’t use that card until I absolutely have to. If she’s helping the Russians…that makes her fair game.”

Axelle got it.

“I’ll help you when you call in that card, but make sure you handle that right,” she said.

“I will.”

Axelle thought about it.

“If you plan on doing this, going up against her, you’re going to have to park your ass in NOLA though. If this is about to blow, we need someone on the ground. If The Hunters are in danger, you have to make sure that this stays contained.”

Yeah, she was aware.

Because she wasn’t going in alone, Elizabeth whistled.

When her brother headed their way, it was Lewis who grinned.

“I get to meet the hubby and Elizabeth’s brother. Exciting.”

“Who I am protective of,” Elizabeth said. “Don’t make me punch you in the balls. I will.”

He snorted.

“Feisty. I like it.”

As Duke approached, Elizabeth took Charlotte from him and cuddled her.

“Special Agent Duke Maverick, this is Captain Lewis Faulkner,” she said.

Yeah, he thought so. His wife didn’t go around kissing many people. Well, people who weren’t Blackhawks. She was very loving to her brothers-in-law.

That was their clan.

This was…

Not that situation.

He lifted a brow.

“Oh, that Lewis,” he stated.
