She didn’t flinch.
“The money will be deposited into an account of your choice from me. I’m paying for his therapy, and if you need more, ask. I’m telling you that this Marine is priceless, and I’ll pay whatever you ask.”
“You have to be kidding.”
“Account?”
He blinked.
“Give me the numbers,” she said, opening her personal phone and pulling up her banking app. The whole time, Jagger just stared.
Poe read them off.
She entered them, put in the amount, and pushed the button. They both heard the man’s phone chime.
“Jesus, bloody, Christ,” he muttered.
Elizabeth didn’t even flinch. She had money thanks to Christopher’s gift of a business, and she was using every penny to save people.
