“Well, he ate. It’s a start, and he’s said he’ll do therapy, so that’s a win. He’s going to be moved to a location where he can get around the clock help.”

“Not a VA,” she said. “Please not that.”

Oh, she understood why every soldier rallied against that.

“No. Doctor Seville has agreed to take him into his home and give him that care.”

She lifted a brow.

“Out of the kindness of his heart?” she asked.

“Sure.”

Yeah, Maura didn’t buy that for a single second. There was no doubt Elizabeth had pulled strings, the man owed her a favor, or she paid him.

“I see.”

“He’ll be transported there after Poe can take care of his other patients. He’s clearing his schedule,” she said as they all watched the trackers.

“Thank you,” Maura said.

Elizabeth shrugged.

“I like Marines,” she admitted.

When Zayn looked over, she finished her sentence.

“Well, most of them.”

He started laughing.

“You’re a bitch.”

Yeah, well, tell her something she didn’t know.

“Jagger is with him right now. How’s it going here?” she asked, changing the subject.

Maura shared.

“They just arrived at the address. They are about to go in, and we’re about to find out if Shila Bargo is hiding him out.”

Elizabeth wanted to hear it go down, so they could ensure Eve and Jinx were safe.

This, after all, could be a trap.

“MATE, pull up audio.”

The vests went live, and they could hear both women as they were moving into position.

“Wait, we don’t have to wear coms to hear them?” Dakota asked.

“To talk to each other, yes. For base to monitor, no. We’ll hear everything they say, and they can hear you, so don’t piss off your wives,” she stated, warning Rogue and Dakota.

“Copy,” Adder said. “Moving into position. I have the back of the apartment building.”

Then, came Jinx’s voice.

“Copy,” she answered. “I’m in the stairwell making approach to the front door. We have civilians everywhere,” she admitted. “This is going to have to be done silently.”
