Someone was busy.

“Look for some tech, but be careful. Like the intel she gave Calyx, and anything she gives freely, isn’t likely safe. She plays games. It’s like four chess games all at once. That’s her specialty.”

Yeah, they knew.

“Thank you, Elizabeth.”

Oh, there was no need to thank her. They had to stay afloat, or the US was going to be compromised.

“Be safe, Hunters. Watch your asses.”

When she hung up, Maura tucked her phone away.

“We should have a knock soon,” she said. “Hotel Monteleone is less than three blocks away. She’s having her security leave us a package in the planter.”

Zayn went to go watch out the window.

Just.

In.

Case.

Maura focused on the ladies.

“How was it?” she asked.

Eve shared.

“Well, we escaped the police twice, so good,” she said. “I mean, after a Spider nearly compromised us.”

Lewis laughed.

“Sue a guy for trying to keep a pregnant woman and another Marine safe. I’m a horrible human being for stopping a possible ambush.”

Neither Dakota nor Rogue said anything because they knew better, but they weren’t sorry that the man had their wives’ backs.

What husband would be?

“Anyway, that’s what we got. The one dude, Silas spilled what he knew. You heard that. What piqued my interest,” Jinx offered, “was that he said they met with her in a warehouse when blindfolded. Maybe one of them had their phones on.”

That had Lewis’ attention, and everyone else in the room who had been updated.

A warehouse, huh?

“Funny you should mention that,” Maura stated.

She caught them up to speed with what Reaper had found out.

Jinx pointed at him.

“Don’t be looking at our Merry and Boone like bait,” she said.

Merry laughed.

“I never thought I’d say this, but I like Snakes better than Spiders.”

Lewis didn’t get offended.
