That was all they had to hear.

Both she and Jagger started sinking low in the water until the only part of them that was visible was the night vision goggles.

Reaper backed up, going into some trees, and Wolf went up, climbing until he was invisible in the trees above them.

From the house, Merry muted MATE so no one would come through the com.

Then, they watched their family, and their Marines, do what they did best.

Be soldiers against some wanna be ones.

Evening

Eleven P.M.

Up North

Axelle was hella pissed, and not because she needed to spring an older woman from a retirement home and lie to the staff.

No.

She was irritated that the CIA was playing around, and she hoped Gabe took care of business. It was all fun and games until the head of an agency, like the CIA, decided to go bad.

That shit made her cranky.

“What’s the plan?” Gabby asked, sitting beside her in the limo.

“Well, Ms. Lopez, we’re going to borrow a person for Elizabeth. She won’t be hurt.”

Gabby was really excited.

She’d been going off shift when she’d been ‘borrowed’ by the Director of the FBI for a top-secret mission.

This shit was cool.

“I know she won’t. Just tell me what you need me to do.”

Axelle explained.

“I’m going in to get the woman out. I need you to hack your way into their computer, dig out any information on how to contact the woman’s daughter, and find a way to stall.”

She grinned, pulled out her laptop, and got to work.

“I’m in. You’re looking for who?”

She gave her the woman’s name.

It didn’t take long.

“She’s in room one eighteen. There are two nurses on duty, and you shouldn’t have a difficult time. I’m changing the number in the system to reroute to us if anyone tries to call Artemis Dubois to alert her that her mother is gone.”

Axelle grinned.

“Then, the rest is up to me.”

When she got out, she wasn’t alone.
