Oh, she didn’t have to tell him.

He knew that Elizabeth was being very magnanimous. He had been in bed with Ethan, and fell asleep against him. It had been the best sleep in a long damn time. There was something about the way he smelled and felt that was cathartic.

“What’s going on? Let me help. I’m vested.”

She clued them in.

“Maura and her guys found the warehouse and breeched it. They made access earlier, while I was out playing agent. They found a shit ton of stuff.”

Ethan was curious.

“What?”

She showed him.

“We now have Alexsandr’s face. On top of that, Artemis was in the possession of a lot of files.”

Ethan lifted a brow.

“They were all CIA classified documents. I’m talking shit that I have to do a dance to get. This is the shit that only two people get easily. The Director of the FBI or Gabe.”

He blinked.

“And?”

Gene got it.

“You think the CIA has a rat in its house.”

She nodded.

“Oh, boy.”

Then, she had to tell Ethan about the MATE hack.

“While The Hunters were working, someone accessed, or tried to hack my baby.”

Ethan’s eyes went huge.

“As they did, they wanted two things from the system,” she admitted. “Hunter intel, and everything on me.”

Ethan actually gasped.

“Oh, no,” he said, knowing what that meant. “You’re next,” he said.

She nodded.

“Artemis is trying to get anything she can on me, like our personal information. She’ll be gunning for me if she gets past us.”

Ethan looked scared.

“I don’t like that.”

She laughed, and she sounded tired.

“Neither do I. I don’t care about me,” she said, being honest. “I can hold my own. I’m worried about the kids.”

He stared at her.
