“Does he know?”
She nodded.
“Axelle told him.”

“He’s going to be handled by tomorrow,” Ethan said. “I can call and ask him to do it tonight.”
“What about Artemis?” Gene asked. “How do we stop her? If she has your intel…”
She interrupted.
“It’s worse. She doesn’t just have my intel, she has my husbands’ information too. She’ll gun for the men in my life before she comes for me. She’ll gun for my kids. She’ll strike at the one person who helps me solve everything.”
When she pointed at Ethan, Gene got red.
Oh, fuck no.
“We have to make sure they’re safe,” he said, looking at Ethan. “I’m not letting anyone take a shot at him, or my godchild, or any of your kids.”
She hoped he was up for it.
She was going to make sure Raphael and Gene were all over Ethan when they were on cases.
Just to be sure.
“I have a plan, and it’s in play. I’m about to trap a rat. Axelle is on her way here with a present for Artemis Dubois.”
“Who?”
“Her mother. I ‘borrowed’ her from a facility. The only thing Artemis cares about in this world is her mother. We also have the contact number that they put in the system as the point of contact.”
Gene laughed.
“Oh, you’re evil. That’s perfect.”
She grinned.
“She fucked around, and now, she’s about to find out. I’m just giving Maura and the Marines time to get Remington. He was taken and hurt. He’s somewhere in a swamp. As soon as they have him, I’m going to open Hell on that bitch.”
“What can I do?” Ethan asked.
“I need you to help me build my case against Bob. I want Gabe to have everything. Let’s pin a shitmess on a man who believes he’s above the law.”
Both men rolled up their sleeves.
“Let’s do it. I’ll be happy to make her bleed,” Gene said.
Yeah, her too.
She handed him her laptop.
Artemis Dubois should have stayed in Germany. She was about to walk into a trap.
