“I know nothing, J. Edgar.”

She snorted.

The woman understood the assignment.

Only, know who wasn’t feeling magnanimous?

The usual suspect.

“What is she doing here?” Zayn asked. “Because we have to kill her now.”

She gasped.

“Don’t worry, Gabby. He’s not nearly as scary as he pretends to be. He’s a teddy bear.”

Stella came over and shook her head.

“I’m Stella, the teddy bear’s non-existent wife. Since he doesn’t exist, neither do I, but it’s nice to meet you anyway in this weird fever dream.”

She smiled as Elizabeth snorted.

This group...

“Well, it’s nice to meet you. Where is that computer?” she asked, grinning. “I hear you have a CIA issue with MATE.”

They pointed.

The woman began pulling cables and wires out, then when she put on safety glasses, Axelle pointed.

“What is she doing?” she asked. “That software is VERY expensive.”

“And from Chris’ company, so chill out,” she said. “I can get a replacement.”

Axelle just leaned against her husband.

“I have an ulcer.”

He laughed.

To calm her boss down, Elizabeth cleared her throat.

“Gabby, tell the nice Red Queen the plan.”

She did.

“I’m going to reinforce the firewall with a virus so that if anyone comes and tries to access it, you’ll end up taking down their system with a Trojan Horse virus. You’ll be able to get a lock on where they are. Then, you can handle them, and by handle, I mean do whatever it is I’m not supposed to know about here in New Orleans.”

Now, Zayn was smiling.

“I’m good with that.”

Elizabeth thought so.

This was about shoring up The Hunter’s defenses before the shit hit the fan. If she could make sure Alexsandr couldn’t access them, she would. They might have his face, but he wouldn’t have their tech.

Elizabeth looked at her watch.

“How do you guys feel about wrapping this up? Anyone want to catch Artemis?”
