They all began laughing.

Oh, that woman was dead.

She’d burned them all.

“Oh, we’re ready. Let’s get her for Remington,” Maura stated. “This one is his. She cost his wife and child their lives. We owe her for that.”

That.

They.

Did.

“Then, let’s do this. Gabby, get ready to do your thing,” she said, glancing over at Gabby, who wasn’t just tweaking MATE.

She was going to track the call.

“You betcha, Boss.”

Elizabeth used a burner phone, and she dialed the number Gabby had extracted.

It didn’t take long.

“Hello?”

Elizabeth did her thing.

“Hello, Artemis. It’s funny we should get connected this way,” Elizabeth offered.

She had to stall her.

Just in case.

If she didn’t show up to the ‘exchange’, then they’d have her hole.

“What do you want? How did you get this number?” she asked.

Elizabeth began laughing.

“Oh, you know already, don’t you? This is the number you gave to that pricey nursing home. Guess who I’m with right now?” she asked.

Again, a pause.

Gabby was making the motion to stall longer.

“That’s bullshit, and we both know it. You’re a liar. A goodie-two-shoes like you would never stoop so low.”

She was amused.

Walking into the living room, she pointed at the phone.

“Mom, are your programs good today?” she asked.

“Oh, they are, Artie. They are so good. Can I have some food?”

Elizabeth walked back into the kitchen, and she knew the explosion was coming.

Good.
