At least she wasn’t alone. Aiden was without a doubt one of her favorites and despite what his brothers might think, he was a lot of fun. Sienna was ready to be entertained.

CHAPTER 3

SiennasatacrossfromAiden, who was going through files she’d never seen before. His brows were furrowed in concentration and his forehead was wrinkled. If the situation weren’t so serious, Sienna would’ve laughed at him.

“What are you reading?” she asked and nudged his foot with hers.

He looked up at her, his grey eyes softening a bit as his lips turned up into a teasing smile. “Just reading up on a few yoga poses I’d like to try with you.”

Fighting the heat that started to spread over her body, Sienna leaned forward enough to give him a sneak peek inside her shirt. “I’d be happy to teach you new things. It’s been a while since we’ve done anything proper.”

One side of his lip stayed up while his eyes contemplated her words. Sienna brushed a finger over her lip then licked the lower one. Aiden blinked a few times, then let out a breath and furrowed his brows.

“I’ll tell you what, I’ll invite you to become a member of the prestigious Mile High Club, but only after we’ve finished reviewing those files,” he said, and held up the documents he’d been going through.

Sienna snorted. “It’s cute of you to assume that I’m not a member yet.”

Aiden’s brows shot up and an expression that heavily resembled one of shock showed on his face. “You are?”

“It’s my favorite club and I visit it quite often,” she told him with a wink.

Aiden looked perplexed, which Sienna didn’t understand. They’d all made it clear that they had their history, and for some things they’d just have to be more creative if they wanted to be first.

“Tell me about the documents,” Sienna said, changing the subject.

Aiden took a breath and looked down at the files to gather himself, then met her eyes with a serious look on his face. He handed her a few papers and she read the similarly done research on the guests that Jensen had given her before the dinner party, which seemed like it had been ages ago.

Friedman – Family of bankers

Angelo Friedman

Willie Friedman

Yvonne Rees

Sienna read about their personal lives, broken down year by year, that were downright boring. Her eyes started to tear up and she looked at Aiden.

“Can you just give me the bullet points please? I don’t want to know how fat Angelo is or that he’s getting hair implants,” Sienna said and rolled her eyes.

Aiden snatched the files from her hand. “This is serious. We never know when the information might come in useful no matter how insignificant it might seem.”

“Geez, you sound like Jensen.”

“For fuck’s sake, Sienna. Don’t you get it? Our lives depend on getting it right. We need to convince them to support us. We need them on our side. I need you to take this seriously. I promise we’ll have plenty of fun in between too,” he said, putting his hand on hers and rubbed his thumb over it.

She sighed and rested her head on her hands, rubbing her temples. “I know, Aiden. I understand the pressure and I’m sorry for getting distracted so easily. It’s like I’m so stressed that I can’t even keep attention on the simplest things.”

“It’s okay,” he assured her. “I’ll tell you what I think matters in this case.”

He shuffled through the documents and scanned through some paragraphs. Sienna looked at him with her eyes softening. The Carrington heirs told her repeatedly that she wasn’t alone, and they always came through for her too. They didn’t let her down once, even though they had to kidnap her in the first place to get her to see the matters from their point of view.

“We’re not sure who will be staying with them, because they invite different people every year,” Aiden started, then cleared his throat before continuing, “Getting their guests on board is a plus, but the Friedmans are the ones who really matter. Angelo and Willie Friedman are cousins who are also owners of several banks throughout the country, but most notably in our city they have control of the ones where the Remingtons keep their money.”

Sienna nodded, her eyes narrowing as her mind started spinning.

“If we get them on our side, we’ll be able to freeze their accounts and prevent them from accessing their finances when the time comes,” Aiden continued. “With their help, we’ll be able to isolate them and possibly cut them off from hiring extra men. Do you understand what I’m saying?”

Sienna nodded, scratching her chin. “Yeah, it will make them vulnerable and people around them susceptible to bribes because the Remingtons might not be able to pay them.”
