“And you look even more handsome than usual.”

Blake appeared to blush and led her to his father who was already waiting for them.

“We have come here tonight to celebrate these two souls merging their lives into one.”

Blake and Niev were holding hands, their eyes locked and tears still running down Niev’s cheeks.

“Blake and Niev, will you take each other to be your mate? Will you love, comfort, honor, and keep each other, in sickness and in health, and be faithful to one another as long as you both shall live?”

“I do,” Niev and Blake simultaneously answered.

“Niev, you may give Blake this ring as a reminder of your love.”

Tanner handed Niev a silver ring and she slipped it over Blake’s left ring finger. They’d decided on something plain, something that wouldn’t be missed or could be replaced in case it ever got lost. After all, Blake was a wolf and if he needed to shift, he would have to do so without the ring anyway.

Tanner handed Blake a smaller, slimmer silver ring. “Blake, you may give this ring to Niev as a reminder of your love to one another.”

Blake took the ring and slid it over Niev’s shaking ring finger. She looked up at him and couldn’t help but smile in adoration for him.

“Not only will these two souls vow one’s love for each other before all of you, but also before Selene,” Tanner continued with a soft voice and turned toward Seth who quickly handed him the dagger for the blood bond. “Will you bind your souls to one another before Selene?”

They both nodded and Tanner handed Blake the dagger, stepping back to give them their space.

Blake turned his right wrist face up and placed the blade on top of it. Niev laid her left wrist on the blade and pressed it down, letting the blade slowly penetrate her skin and her blood drip down the metal onto Blake’s wrist. She looked up at him and he slowly pulled the dagger away, deeply cutting both their wrists.

“I am yours,” they vowed to each other as their blood mixed.

Her heart began to race, her skin tingled and her head grew dizzy. She took the dagger from Blake and placed it on her upward facing right wrist, pressing it down while Blake laid his left wrist on the blade and added more pressure. His blood slowly dripped down the blade into her wound. The tingling feeling on her skin increased with each drop of his blood that mixed with hers.

Her heart started pumping in her chest, her love increasing with each second. Only now, it felt different. The love she felt was so intense it was hard to breathe, and her hand on the dagger began to shake. She carefully pulled it from between their wrists and looked up at Blake, his eyes radiating pure love.

As she pulled the blade further and their blood mixed more, the love in her chest only increased. Blake’s face changed, his eyes now confused and the feeling within her chest transformed, mirroring his facial expressions. Blake grabbed her violently shaking arm and pressed his wrist harder on hers.

“And you’re mine,” they said in unison.

She gasped as she felt his blood flow into her and with it came all his feelings. She could feel his pain from the blade cutting him, then his surprise as he realized what was happening.

“Blake,” she gasped.

“I think I feel you.” As the words left his mouth, her heart could feel his excitement.

“I feel you too.” Her voice was a mere whisper as she opened her heart and let his feelings flow toward her. “I can feel everything you are feeling.” Her voice broke off as the pride he felt wrapped her into a warm cocoon.

His wrist still pressed to hers, he wrapped his large hand around her lower arm holding her even tighter.

“I feel your love and your strength and how much you adore me,” he husked deeply, his pride and excitement dripping from each of his words.

His amazement flowed into her. “Don’t let go!” she begged, grabbing his arm in return.

He smiled and she could feel his amusement. “I don’t think I ever want this to end.”

Out of the corner of her eye, she saw Tanner and Mayra step closer before she felt Mayra’s small hand on her lower back. She seemed curious, yet hesitant while Tanner took the dagger out of Niev’s hand.

“You feel each other?”

Niev and Blake nodded without taking their eyes off each other.

“Should we not feel that?” Mayra’s reaction scared Niev and she saw Tanner and Mayra exchange a look she couldn’t decipher.
