“Visiting? Is that what he told you?” I ask. Mia quickly turns to Nico.

“She is just visiting, right? Wasn’t that the agreement with Basque?” she asks in a panic rush.

“Mia, if you can’t stay calm, then you need to leave,” Nico replies softly. “We’ve already discussed this.”

“But– But–” Her shoulders slump in defeat. She looks absolutely defeated as she rubs her stomach.

“Mia, it’s okay. You and the babies are what matters. Don’t stress yourself out,” I smile at her, but her eyes are lowered.

I hate seeing her stressed, especially when it’s because of me. She’s the nicest person I know and her upset is the last thing I want to see. I need her and the babies to be happy and healthy.

“Do you want to leave and go lay down?” Nico asks, looking at her. She doesn’t reply, just shakes her head. “Mia, if it’s too much, you should go rest.”

“I’m fine. Just act like I’m not even here,” she whispers.

“Mia,” Nico sighs. She waves off his word with her hand. “Fine.”

He looks at me. His eyes narrowed in on me.

“Are you a Santoro or not?” he asks, making me roll my eyes.

“You may want to excuse everyone from the room,” I say sweetly.

“And if I don’t?”

“Then I guess they’ll get to watch me lose my ever-lasting mind on your ass once and for all. Santoro versus Santoro. Then we’ll finally know which one of us is the biggest monster of the family,” I smirk.

“Think you can take me, little sister?” he chuckles.

“Ask me again if I’m a Santoro, and we’ll find out,” I smile.

The tension in the room is extremely tense. All eyes are lowered. No one wants to be in the room with us. Not that I blame them because once this blows up, only one of us will walk away from it.

“Well, you can’t keep the name,” he grins smugly.

I fly out of my chair from his words. Rage roars through me because of the audacity he has. He is more selfish than I even imagined.

“What the fuck does that even mean? You think you can just rename me because you don’t… because you–” It’s hard to formulate the words through all the pain. “Because you don’t want me in the family anymore?” I scream with tears pouring down my face.

“I never said you wouldn’t be in the family anymore,” Nico chuckles and digs into his jacket’s inside pocket. He pulls out a handkerchief and hands it to me. I stare at him absolutely confused about what’s going on.

“What does that even mean? You do or you don’t want me to have the Santoro name?”

“I don’t,” he says firmly.

“Nico! What the hell did I do so wrong that would make you take my last name away?” I shout again with tears streaming down my face.

“I’m not taking it away,” he chuckles. “Dry your eyes, uccellino.”Baby bird. It’s a nickname he hasn’t called me in years.

“Uccellino?” I ask in disbelief.

“Just because we fight doesn’t mean you aren’t my sister, Felicity. Now, dry your eyes and turn around before you ruin everything, pazza,” he chuckles.Crazy woman.

“What?” I ask, turning around. My heart skips several beats when I see Basque down on one knee. He looks up at me.

“Hey, Beautiful,” he smiles.

“Hey,” I whisper.
