“Oh my god, this is brilliant. Finally, some progress,” I murmur as I rise to my feet, moving toward him, and he pins me to his chest despite still being injured as I hug him.

“No,Bella, the progress is for later since Ethan confirmed I’m finally ready for some extracurricular activity.” No clarification is needed of course with the way he wiggles his eyebrows at me.

“You did not just say that,” Valentina gasps from her seat at the table, making even Nonna chuckle as Ethan steps out of the house.

“Sadly, he did. He even asked about specific thrusting positions too. I’d like to say you’re in for a good time, Wren, but…” He trails off as he nods to my crazy De Luca lover, who has zero inhibitions.

Everyone laughs at his antics, until Ethan clears his throat and steps closer to me as he lowers his voice. “Enzo is discharged from me now, but I wanted to talk to you before I left, Wren. Do you have a minute to go inside?”

I’m already shaking my head as Matteo answers for me. “No. I like you, Ethan, but just… no.”

I roll my eyes at his choice of words as I take my seat at the table once more. “You can say it here, Ethan, it doesn’t make a difference.”

He rubs the back of his neck nervously, before taking a deep breath and exhaling slowly. “Okay, well, since the last time I saw you, something was playing on my mind, something completely crazy, and I hope you don’t mind, but I did some digging into your history…”

I frown in confusion, attempting to assess him for whatever information he has, but I come up blank.

“My history?”

“Yeah.” He shuffles from foot to foot, and Nonna sighs.

“Just spit it out,” she grumbles, folding her arms over her chest as she purses her lips.

“When you told me about what Totem did to you, to stop…” I understand what he means, so I help him along, hoping to get to the point sooner rather than later.

“To stop me from being able to carry children.”

“Yeah, it just struck me as odd. A man of his mindset, as deranged as it was, he seemed like the type who would want to continue his bloodline, but he stopped that with you.”

My gut clenches at his words as I mull over. Where the hell is he fucking going with this?

“What’s the point of all this?” Valentina asks, getting to the question before I can.

Ethan rubs a hand through his hair before rolling his shoulders back and staring me down. “It means two things. I found a lab in Arizona that is showing records of having some of your eggs frozen there.”

“Holy fuck,” I blurt, completely stunned to silence. “How the fuck did you find that out? Are you sure?”

“My main bloodline at Featherstone was medicine, but my second was tech,” he explains, almost looking sheepish as Vito clears his throat.

“And thing number two?”

Ethan nods, almost to himself for a second, like he’s trying to build up the courage to speak, and in the next moment, he’s simply blurting it out like he’s describing the weather.

“You have a brother… well, half brother, a bastard in Totem’s eyes. Which I can only assume is the reason why he’s never been brought into the Featherstone fold. Well, that, and the fact that his mother is of no descending bloodline and Totem isn’t registered as his father…”

The world stands still as I test the foreign words on my tongue. “I have a brother?”

Ethan crouches beside me, a hint of worry flashing in his eyes as he keeps his tone as relaxed as possible. “Yes, his name is Axel and he’s part of a motorcycle gang. Running in an area of the States that is completely untouched by Featherstone.”

This just keeps getting crazier and crazier. One minute, I’m out here trying to explain why I don’t want to be without my De Luca men, and the next, I’m learning I could have biological children, while also having a biological half brother.

Fuck me sideways, I wasn’t prepared for this.

“What motorcycle gang?” I ask, as if I’m even going to know who they are, but shit, my mind wants that information, and I can’t help myself.

“The Ruthless Brothers MC.”
