The doctor asks me to lift my gown, then he applies the gel on my stomach, before the wand.

I can’t believe what I’m hearing. “Is that?” I start to ask, looking at Connor, who seems very confused.

The doctor turns the screen. Your baby is fine, Ms. Holland. I estimate you are about six or seven weeks along, and that sound you hear is the baby’s heartbeat.”

I stare at the screen in shock,I’m pregnant.I look over at Connor and see he is wearing the same shocked look that I am, though I can see the unshed tears glistening in his eyes.

Is he happy? I can’t tell.

He turns to look at me with a smile on his face. “We are having a baby,” he whispers, and I nod.

Connor looks at the doctor. “You are sure the baby is okay?”

“Yes, Chief, the baby is okay. Just make sure you see your OBGYN, but everything looks fine.”

He turns the machine off, wipes the gel off my belly, and then says, “I will sign the discharge papers, but make sure you get plenty of fluids and rest,” he tells me.

“She will, don’t have to worry about that.”

I chuckle since it hurts to laugh, and I nod in agreement.

When we get back to Connor’s place, he helps me inside. We sit on the couch, and he places his hand on my stomach.

“We are going to have a baby,” he says with awe in his voice.

“I know this wasn’t planned, but are you okay with that?”

“Are you?” he asks.

I think about it, before I croak out, “Yes, I’m okay with it. I want this baby, Connor.”

“I do too. I want this baby and you for the rest of our lives. I planned on doing this at your house after dinner the other night, but with the events that happened, I don’t want to wait any longer.”

Connor gets down on one knee, holding a black box, when he opens it, there is a beautiful princess cut diamond ring.

Tears well in my eyes, and I look at him.

“Samantha Holland, you are the most beautiful, stubborn, and fascinating woman I know. You keep me on my toes, and I love everything about you. Will you marry me?”

“Yes,” I reply with tears cascading down my face. I have not cried so much as I have the last few days. “Yes, I will marry you, Connor, I love you.”

He places the ring on my finger and kisses me sweetly, before our heat turns things up. Before I know it, we are both naked, and I am bent over the couch as he thrusts into me slowly, then frantically until we both come.

EPILOGUE

CONNOR

Eight Months later

Iwill never forget getting to Samantha’s house and finding it fully inflamed. Sharon was standing outside laughing, thrilled that Sam was going to die. Turns out she worked at Garfolino’s and was on shift the night Carly caused a scene.

Sharon really believed Tyson wanted to be with Samantha, and it was only a matter of time before he left her like I supposedly did with Carly.

Carly put the idea into Sharon’s head on how to get rid of Sam, so she was arrested as an accomplice to attempted murder times two since Sam was pregnant, even though we didn’t know it at the time.

Tyson was a wreck after all that, but he is finally putting his life back together. I know he still blames himself for Sam, but she has helped him see that it wasn’t his fault, Sharon was just very insecure due to childhood trauma that she never got help for, and there was no way for him to know that.

I don’t mind the fact that they are friends, in fact, I even encourage it. Tyson is a good kid and deserves better in life, and having Sam as a friend and mentor isn’t a bad thing. I'm still possessive as hell, but I also know Sam loves me, and she’s quick to put me in my place, then allow me to have my way with her in the bedroom.
