Wasn’t much in this world I wouldn’t do for her, to be real. And taking care of her and doing things for her was one of my favorite pass-times.

I heard the kitchen window open. I turned my head to look at Elizabeth, a smirk curving my lips at the stern look on her face. “Do not come back to this house muddy, Drake!”

I just grinned at her. She scowled, but her features softened when I blew her a kiss.

“Love you, baby girl!” I called.

I watched her slim shoulders rise and fall with a heavy sigh. “I don’t know what I’m going to do with you two, Drake Johnson.”

I just winked at her. Because we both knew she would just continue to love us.

She always did.
