Marshall nodded, “I agree. Though, I would be more worried about it moving during shifts or popping out of my skin or something.”

Cassie faked a shiver, “An implant like that makes me think of aliens. Way too creepy.”

Kenzie shrugged, “Maybe we’ll meet one someday. All the other weird things that go bump in the night exist. Why not aliens.”

Everyone stared at her for a second before laughing. Marshall shook his head, “Please take lots of pictures if you ever meet one.”

Kenzie grinned, “Count on it.”

Aiden just shook his head at their antics, “So, Raven, how long would it take you to make something like that?”

“About twenty minutes or so. I’ll make them after breakfast. The sooner the better, just to be safe.”

“That’s perfect, thank you. And as this was my request, let me know how much they are.” Marshall started to protest but Aiden held up a hand, “No. It was my idea, and it is to make me feel better.”

Kenzie nudged Marshall’s knee under the table,“He’s been really scared for us. Let him have this one.”

Marshall nudged her back a little harder,“You are kind of bossy little sister. But okay.”

“Thank you.”

Out loud Marshall said, “Fine, you can pay for it.” Then he turned to Raven, “Please don’t make it anything too girly, okay?”

Raven rolled her eyes, “Sure thing macho man.”

Thankfully, Marilyn called them over to get food just then. She was starving and filled her plate as full as possible.

While everyone ate, they turned the conversation to lighter topics.

She sat quietly, listening to the banter around the room.

She watched Marshall whisper something in Sorcha’s ear that made her giggle. And Raven was throwing sausage balls at Darren who was catching them with his mouth. Cassie and Brianna were talking about the local high school’s football team.

They talked and interacted so openly with each other, exactly like a family.

Aiden leaned into her to whisper in her ear, “You watch everything like there’s going to be a test later.”

She smiled, “I was just thinking that this is what family looks like.”

“It is. We all grew up together, and Raven has been family since before any of us were even born. Sorcha became family as soon as she joined the pack. And you, even though you didn’t grow up here, have always been family.” He wiped something off her cheek with his thumb, “So welcome home baby.”

She leaned forward and placed a soft kiss on his lips, “Thank you.”

Cassie turned to her, “So, since today is a day off, what are we doing for fun?”

“Don’t you have to work?”

“Nope! Just so happens, as the owner of my own business, I decided to take the day off as well.” She grinned as she took a bite of bacon.

Darren clapped his hands, “Oh my gosh, movie day! It’s raining, so it would be perfect!”

“That actually sounds amazing. We could make a bunch of popcorn and curl up in the theater. I’ve been dying to watch a movie on that massive screen since I got here.” Marshall had shown her the theater room on her first day, and she had been blown away.

The screen was almost as big as the ones in an actual theater. The room had huge comfy reclining couches and there was an old fashion popcorn maker and a slushy machine.

She was bouncing in her seat just thinking about it.

When they were finished, they headed to the theater room as a group, except for Raven. She told them she would meet them there, that she wanted to make their charms first.
