Darren smiled at her, “Well hello there gorgeous. It’s nice to meet you. Welcome home.”

Brianna pushed at his shoulder, “You’re such a flirt. Hi Mackenzie, I’m Brianna, it’s great to meet you. How are you settling in?”

“It’s nice to meet both of you. You can call me Kenzie.” She smiled at them, it was going to be hard remembering all these new names, “I haven’t even unpacked yet, but I think I’m going to love it here.”

“Are you staying at the pack house?” asked Brianna.

“Yes, I am. Chris and Marshall gave me a beautiful room. I’m really looking forward to using the garden tub.” Aiden started coughing, like he was choking on his food and Darren started pounding on his back.

“Dang bro, forget how to chew?” Darren and Marshall started laughing while Aiden caught his breath.

Brianna ignored her two brothers, “The baths in all of the houses are pretty amazing too. They all have jets, which is awesome after a long day. Though you should check out the hot springs sometime. Trust me, you won’t regret it.”

That sounded amazing, “We should all go sometime. Make a day of it or something.”

Aiden finally caught his breath, “I can show you them sometime this week.”

Darren smiled at her, “Or I can. I don’t have as many responsibilities as my brother so I could give you all my attention.”

She felt Aiden stiffen next to her, worried he was going to get upset with his brother for obviously flirting, she quickly said, “As much as I appreciate that, it’s probably not a good idea. I think we should go as a group. It would be fun to have everyone there.”

“Why not? I promise I am a perfect gentleman.” Cassie snorted. Darren gave her an appalled look, “Cass I am offended. Are you trying to say I’m not a gentleman?”

Cassie laughed loudly, “As if! You’re a complete hound dog. But I’m pretty sure Kenzie is safe from your wiles, since you have a boyfriend.”

Kenzie paused with a fork halfway to her mouth, “So then you’re not flirting with me? Now I’m a little disappointed.”

Aiden’s head whipped in her direction, “Is that right?”

She couldn’t help it and busted out laughing along with everyone else at the table. Aiden did not look amused, in fact, he was definitely pouting.

“That was too easy.” She said in between laughing, sobering a little, she said, “No Aiden. Not really. I’m a one-man kind of woman.”

Smiling, he leaned over and kissed her on the cheek. Hearing a gasp from the other side of the table, she looked over to see Cassie with her mouth hanging wide open. She forgot to finish chewing though, so everyone was getting a disgusting look at her half-chewed food.

Then a napkin hit her on the nose, and Brianna snapped, “Close your mouth Cass! That’s gross!”

Cassie closed her mouth and finished chewing, then blurted out, “Oh my gosh you are mates!”

The whole table went quiet. Kenzie looked over to Aiden to see he was watching her. She realized he was waiting for her to say something. He mind-linked her,“I know you’re not ready for more than friendship, so it’s your decision what we tell them.”

“I don’t mind them knowing. I am happy to be your mate Aiden, even if I’m not ready for all it could mean.”He gave her a small smile, then took her hand.

Looking back at Cassie, he said, “Yes, Makenzie is my mate.”

A huge cheer went up around the yard, and not just from their table. Apparently, everyone around them had heard Cassie and were now listening in.

People started coming up to the table to congratulate them, some introduced themselves to her, some just hugged them and moved on. Kenzie figured getting this out of the way was good, but she was never going to remember all their names or faces.

Then she started seeing more and more colors surrounding people and they were all starting to blur.

It was making her dizzy. She didn’t know how much more she could take, there were just too many people clustered together.

Kenzie reached out to Marshall. She knew he could make everyone go away without hurting anyone’s feelings,“Marshall, everyone’s auras are starting to blur together. I know everyone means well, but I don’t think I can take it anymore. It’s making my head hurt. Can you nicely ask everyone to back off?”

Marshall was at her side in a second, “Alright everyone, let’s give them some room! Thank you so much for welcoming my sister to the pack and for all the congratulations! I know we are all looking forward to getting to know Kenzie, but for now, we have a party to get to! Let’s light the bonfire!”

Another cheer went up and everyone started to disburse. Aiden walked over with his siblings, coming straight to her, he took her face between his hands, “Are you okay?”
