Sally was waiting for them at the register with a white tub of something, a large bottle and a few bowls, brushes, and gloves. They checked out of Sally’s with Cassie insisting on paying for everything, then headed back.

When they got to the pack house, there was a limo sitting outside. She was sitting next to Brianna, so asked her if she knew who it could be. She just shook her head, “It’s probably William and Corine getting ready to leave.”

“Oh right.” That made sense. Marshall said they would only be there for a few days.

They grabbed all the bags and went straight to her room.

Kenzie watched Cassie and Raven start setting things up on the kitchen counter, curious about what they were doing. She’d never dyed her hair before so it should be an interesting experience.

She went over to the fridge to get a bottle of water, then called to the other girls, “Do ya’ll want anything to drink?”

After everyone called out their choices, she grabbed the assortment of drinks and passed them out. Then plopped down on the couch in between Sorcha and Brianna.

As soon as she sat down, Fiona ran out from wherever she had been hiding and jumped right into her lap. She gently bumped her head into Kenzie’s chin with a little meow, like she was saying hey. Kenzie started petting her and she settled down in her lap, purring loudly.

“Should we help them set things up?” Kenzie asked no one in particular.

Brianna shook her head and grabbed the remote control for the tv, “Nope. Cassie is a control freak and wouldn’t let us help even if we tried. She will let us know where she wants us when she’s ready.”

Sorcha reached over and scratched between Fiona’s ears. She kept her eyes on the purring cat as she asked, “This is a good idea, right?”

“You mean dying your hair?” Kenzie asked.

Sorcha nodded, “Yea. I decided to do it because I needed a change. To feel in control of something, you know?”

“Yea, I get that.” That’s kind of why she was doing it too. It would be fun, and it was something she could do just for herself. Also, if it was terrible, it would be easy to change back.

Sorcha shifted as she continued to pet Fiona, like the cat brought her comfort, “At my old pack we weren’t given any freedom or choices. We did what we were told and that’s it. There was no individuality. Now I’m just trying to figure out who I am and what I like. I feel lost. So, when I saw Raven’s hair, I thought it would be fun to do.”

Her and Brianna both took one of Sorcha’s hands. Fiona had fallen asleep, so she didn’t notice the lack of scratches. “I’m sorry that happened to you. I think at this point, you should explore everything. If you think something looks fun, try it. If you want to voice your opinion, don’t be shy, say what’s on your mind. Eat whatever looks good, wear whatever you like, and dance when you want to dance. It sounds like you haven’t had the chance to live. So do it. And when you start doing the things you never got to, you’ll slowly find yourself and the things you love.”

Brianna nodded and said, “Exactly. Hair can be dyed back, clothes returned. But you can’t get your time back. So, use all the time you want to enjoy the life you have. We only get one and if we don’t live it, what is the point?”

Sorcha gave them a big smile, “You’re both right. I think I really needed to hear that. Thank you.”

Cassie walked over to them, “Alrighty, you ready Sorcha? It was your idea so if you want, I figured we would start with you.”

They released Sorcha’s hands, and she stood up, “Yes, I’m ready.”

Kenzie wanted to watch so she picked up Fiona and gently set her into her little tower bed where she curled up and went right back to sleep.

As they were heading into the kitchen, there was a knock on the door. When she opened it, she couldn’t help busting out laughing at what she saw.

Darren was standing there, almost unrecognizable. He was wearing a tight black pencil skirt, a white blouse that had a black bow around the neck, a dark brown wig, four-inch black stilettos, and black glasses with a bead chain. He looked like a naughty librarian. He also had perfectly done make-up, complete with fake eyelashes and red lipstick.

It was even funnier because Darren was not a small guy. He had the same tall, muscular build and square jaw as his brother. And yet, the look was flawless and really worked on him. Yes, he still looked like a man, but she could totally picture him in a drag club.

“Hey ladiesssss!” Darren dragged the word out while sashaying his way into the room, “I brought party favors!”

She hadn’t noticed it before, but he had a bag with him, which he was currently removing several large bottles from.

She went over to get a better look, “Tequila? Vodka? Margarita mix and Cranberry juice? Darren, are you trying to get us drunk?”

He shook the tequila at her, “Yes girl. I think we all need to let loose a little bit. Don’t you think?”

She took the bottle from him, “Yea I agree. You want to help me make them?”

“Of course. I think there are some pitchers around here somewhere.” Darren started rummaging around in the cabinets. She noticed again how much he looked like his brother.
