“Well, if you’re there I wouldn’t mind. Though, we have to bring the skirt.”She said with a little chuckle.

He almost choked at the idea of wearing a skirt. That was definitely not ever going to happen. But he could joke about it just to make her smile,“For you, I would do it.”

While they waited for the car’s occupants to exit, he said quietly to Marshall, “You know William and Corine did not call them. We need to be careful. Whatever the reason they are here, it will only be bad for us.”

Marshall grunted his agreement as the car door opened.

“Sorry Kenz, I have to go. I hope you have an awesome night, sweetheart.”

“Thank you! You too.”Then he closed the link so he could focus.

Aiden watched the four remaining council members step out of the car. They were dressed impeccably, as always.

Nikolai and Arabella Belikova, the two vampire council members, looked like mirror images of each other. Both were tall and willowy, with platinum blonde hair and icy blue eyes. Their features were oddly similar. He could never decide if Arabella was masculine or Nikolai was feminine, but they were both flawlessly beautiful. The two ancients were brother and sister, changed together when they were in their twenties.

Nikolai was wearing a black three-piece suit, and Arabella was wearing a very similar dress suit with a high collar, but without the vest.

Aiden was used to seeing twins, but with these two, it was just creepy. Especially since they were not twins, so they actually tried to look the same.

The other two members were the witches.

The woman, Sabine Dubois, was more naturally beautiful. She had golden brown hair and brown eyes, that would seem plain if they weren’t sparkling with dancing golden lights and mischief. He actually liked Sabine most of the time. She had a wicked sense of humor and was sharp as a tack.

Colin Douglas, the male witch, wore a stern look on his normally jovial face. He was a big Irishman with curly red hair and a bushy red beard. He was usually very easy going, but right then, his Irish blue eyes were cold as steel.

Aiden wasn’t the biggest fan of the vampires, but the witches were usually pretty friendly. However, all four currently wore varying looks of displeasure. Obviously, this was not going to be a social visit.

Marshall approached them and Aiden followed a step behind, official protection for the Alpha. Since this was an official visit, it would be expected, even on their own lands.

Marshall gave a slight bow to show respect, “Council. We did not expect you. Please allow me to escort you to my office and we can discuss what this visit is about.”

When none of the council members spoke, Marshall turned to lead the way to his office. As he passed Aiden, he discreetly rolled his eyes.

Aiden pretended to be smoothing his beard down to cover his smile. Marshall hated having to deal with official business, especially since this was probably going to be particularly unpleasant. He followed behind to keep watch.

Too much had happened for this to be a coincidence and them being here meant the pack had a mole. William and Corine would never bring them in if they could avoid it. They considered this werewolf business and would never want to give the other species any advantage.

With the possibility of a mole in the council, and now the idea there could be one here as well, their problems might just be stacking up higher than they thought.

The council members walked behind Marshall in pairs, as if they were attached at the hip. Aiden wondered how the two people would walk through the door together. It seemed a little clingy to him. When they got to the door to Marshall’s office, all three men stepped aside to allow the women to enter first.

Very gentlemanly, but not quite as fun as what Aiden was imagining. They followed the women in, and Aiden closed the door.

All four members were standing in a semi-circle in the middle of the room, looking at Marshall.

Nicolai spoke first, “We have been hearing some disturbing things lately Alpha Blake. You were attacked, your sister has returned, only to find out you have magic of some sort, and that your sister killed the only person who may give us answers. That is suspicious to say the least. So of course, we are concerned.”

Colin snorted, “The vampires are concerned. We just want answers. As does Alpha Tate, who claims the wolf you killed was his beta. Which produces another problem. If it was not truly provoked, there will be repercussions.”

Marshall mind-linked Aiden,“It seems we have a damn spy. I want to know who the hell it is.”

“I’ll get Jordan on it as soon as he wakes up.”Then Aiden mind-linked the Dobbins brothers, Cane and Trey,“Guys, keep an eye out for anything out of the ordinary. Let me know as soon as Jordan checks in.”

Cane replied immediately,“Yes Beta.”

“Beta, is there anything specific we should be looking for?”asked Trey.

“Nothing specific yet.”
