“What are you doing?”

I couldn’t help my incredulous snort. What was going on here? “I’m going to the ballet. My brother has a show.”

“Fine. I’ll come with you and we can fuck afterwards,” he said matter-of-factly.

“Keep your voice down,” I hissed. “You’re not coming. My whole family is going.”

“So?”

I threw my hands up in exasperation. “So, you said one night and now you want to come and watch ballet with my entire family?”

“No. I hate ballet. I want to fuck you again tonight, and if I have to watch ballet with your family, then I will, because that’s how much I want to fuck you again.”

I opened my mouth and then closed it again. “Absolutely no way.”

“Is that Gabe Rivers?” Frankie’s excited voice boomed from behind. A groan left my lips. My sister pulled the door open at my back. She nudged me out of the way to get onto the doorstep.

Her mouth fell open. “Oh my God. It is.” She turned around and cupped her hands over her mouth to shout down the hall into the house. “It is Gabe Rivers. I told you!”

My neck heated. I could have sunk into the drain and disappeared. Why did I have to have the most embarrassing human being in existence as a sister?

I rolled my eyes. “This is my sister, Frankie.”

A small smile ghosted Gabe’s lips. “A pleasure.”

Frankie grabbed Gabe by the hand and pulled him past me inside. “Come on. We’ve been dying to meet you. It’s Gabe Rivers.” Her voice was sing-songy and gleeful. “TheGabe Rivers.”

Oh God. My stomach dropped out of me with embarrassment. She flashed me a glance and her wink told me she knew exactly what she was doing. I tried to squeeze past them to block their progress to the kitchen, but I couldn’t.

“Gabe doesn’t have time for this,” I said.

“Nonsense,” Frankie said. “It will just be a minute.”

The chatter in the kitchen fell silent as we walked in. Reece and Elliot’s heads shot up simultaneously to study Gabe like an exotic exhibit in a zoo.

Frankie grinned and clapped her hands together with excitement. “This is Gabe Rivers, everybody. It’s Gabe Rivers in our kitchen.”

I maneuvered Frankie out of the way. “These are my brothers, Reece and Elliot.”

Gabe crossed the room to shake Elliot’s hand and then Reece’s. Thankfully, Mum was still asleep in the other room. At least it wasn’t my entire family in one fell swoop. Reece donned his oven gloves and pulled a tray of mince pies out of the oven and deposited them on the island. The delicious pastry-and-cinnamon aroma filled the kitchen.

Elliot moved to grab a mince pie and Reece knocked his hand away. “Too hot.”

Reece turned his smile on Gabe. “Tea and a mince pie? They’ll cool down soon.”

Not soon enough. Irritation made my lips thin.

“Gabe doesn’t have time for all that.” I tried to push him toward the door, but he held firm against my shove.

I gave him a withering look but he smiled blandly back. What the hell was he doing? This was mortifying. My family were the most embarrassing humans alive. They had no concept of playing it cool. Why was he even here? Didn’t he have better things to do, like run his empire from his personal luxury hotel? He’d had his face buried between my thighs less than twenty-four hours ago and now he was here in my kitchen. It was just sex. This shouldn’t have been happening.

“Miri’s right. I should get back, but it’s a pleasure to meet you all.”

Relief made my shoulders drop as Gabe headed to the door. He paused and turned back to look between my brothers. “Which one of you is the dancer?”

A wry smile twisted Reece’s lips. “That would be Elliot. People would pay me to stop dancing, but I’m taking it as a compliment that you had to ask.”

Gabe smiled and turned his attention to Elliot. “You’re performing tonight?”
