“There’s absolutely no point arguing this with you, is there?”

His eyes gleam. “Absolutely none.”

I grin back at him. “Ok, well in that case, sicortar, may I say that I am delighted you have joined me on this journey.”

He raises my hand to his lips. “Me too, Melinda, me too.”

Chapter 29

Kirimor

I did not tell a lie when I told Melinda that I have important matters to see to in the southern sector. I had been planning to make this journey, but on hearing this morning that she would be setting out alone, with only Desimar for an escort, I was spurred into action. My mind will not rest unless I know she is under my protection. I do not know this Desimar, and I do not trust him with my precious Melinda.

I remove the armrest from between our seats and pull her to me, tucking her head into the crook of my neck. I feel her sniff me, taking deep inhales of my essence. I hold back a smile. My Melinda is addicted to my scent, much as I am addicted to hers. We belong to each other.

Softly, I stroke my fingers through the strands of her hair and hear her moan. “Ah, that feels good… So, what business do you have in the southern sector?”

“Can you not guess? It has to do with you.”

She stills, then sits up to look at me. “You’re going to see Melistor?”

“Yes, my love.”

I pull her back to rest against me. “I plan to spend the morning with him tomorrow and see how well his skills have developed—hopefully well enough that he may accept stepping into my shoes very soon. And this afternoon, I shall come with you to meet with Dorishena and stay on to discuss business with her while you are taken on a tour of the different government departments.”

“Oh. I’m not sure I like the sound of that. You know, that first meeting I had with Denishar, I felt you stare at me the whole time. It was quite intimidating.”

I kiss the top of her head. “If I was staring, it was only with deep admiration. I marvelled at your courage and could not stop looking into your beautiful eyes. Their sparkle held me captivated.”

“Was that what you were doing? It felt like you were glaring at me.”

I huff out a laugh. “I am sorry my love. I am so used to using my powerful sicortar stare to inspire awe and respect, that I forget sometimes that I am doing it. But please believe me when I say I was not glaring. On the contrary, I was enchanted. You put your hooks into me from that very first meeting.”

She kisses my neck and mumbles into it, “And you put your hooks into me that first time I saw you during the holy ceremony.”

“I smelled your arousal, Melinda. It made my cock all the harder.”

“I saw it. I smelled you too. I could not forget.”

My voice turns husky as I whisper, “It is your cock now, Melinda. I will make sure of it.”

The naughty female puts her hand on it and squeezes.

“Melinda!” I groan. “Behave yourself.”

In response, she gives it another squeeze, sending my pulse skyrocketing. I let her go and sit up abruptly. She looks back at me innocently. “Only keeping a check on my property,” she says coyly.

“You will pay for this, my lovely. That is a promise.”

Just then, the aircraft begins to accelerate in preparation for take-off, and we both fall silent. The rest of the journey is uneventful. I feed my Melinda a lunch cooked and packed for us by my cook, Dresolor. We talk some more, and I learn about her life back on Earth. She has a younger sister called Harper who is married to someone called Dan and has two children, a boy of six sun rotations and a girl of four, the same age as my Kiritela.

She asks me about the children, and I tell her of the latest happenings in my household. Kirilor’s decision that he wants to become a designer of drones when he grows up. Kirimara’s latest run in with her chemical analysis teacher—my daughter could not stop herself from pointing out an error in one of his analyses, much to his annoyance. Kirishar playing bong at school and coming home with a broken arm because he somehow fell off the platform and bumped into the neighboring platform’s ladder. And finding Kiritela wrapped around me when I woke this morning.

She listens with rapt attention, her face betraying her emotions. She already cares so much about my children. I know Melinda was made for motherhood, and I am more determined than ever to make that a reality.

When finally, we arrive in the southern sector, there is an official government drone waiting to take us to Dorishena’s palace, where she will meet us. The journey there is short, and before long, we are being escorted through the corridors of the palace. The architecture here is different to that in the northern sector of our planet. Where we favor domed ceilings and archways, southern architecture leans more towards clean, precise lines.

“Oh wow,” Melinda says, walking beside me. “This feels very post-modern in style.”
