“It’s a terrible idea, sweetheart.” He cupped her cheek. “Let’s concentrate on your parents first, then we’ll do mine, okay?”
“I guess.” She pressed her lips together. “What if your mom hates me?”
“She loves you. Especially since you keep Sabrina under control.”
“She might not think I’m good enough for you.”
He chuckled. “I don’t think you have to worry about that. She’ll probably think you’re too good for me.”
“Stop it.” She slapped his arm playfully.
He caught her wrist, curling his fingers around it, lifting her hand to his mouth and kissing her palm softly. “Seriously, my mom loves you. You have nothing to worry about.”
“Josh was worried.”
“He was worried about you. If I was treating you right.”
Her brows pinched tightly together. “Well you do.”
“Good.”
“And maybe somebody should worry about you.”
He kissed her fingertips one by one. “I’m a big boy. I can worry about myself.”
“No.” She shook her head. “I’ll worry about you too.”
His throat felt tight. Not because he hated that idea, but because he liked it. Too much. Liked that she cared.
That she loved him.
“Okay,” he said gruffly. “You do that.”
Pulling her hand from his, she moved across him until she was straddling him, her hands planted flat on the sheets, either side of his face. Her hair trailed down, tickling his nose, her ass wriggling on top of him until he was hard.
Again.
“You don’t get it, do you?” she asked him. “I would move mountains for you. Fight lions or whatever it is.”
He looked up at her. “That’s my line.”
“I know you’d fight them for me. We’d fight them together.”
“Are you getting me ready for Friday?”
She laughed, and he pulled her down, kissing her again.
“What was that?” she asked.
“What?” He smiled at her. “You want me to kiss you again?”
“No, not the kiss. That bang? Did you hear it?”
“Probably my heart finally giving up.” He trailed his lips down her throat.
“Shut up.” She shook her head.
“Or the lions trying to get into the house,” he murmured against her jaw.
