"She sucked my dick," Jayden said dryly.

"Omigod," Alyssa cried out. "Are you fucking kidding me?" She stormed down the stairs of the entryway. "You are such a hypocrite."

"Alyssa," I interrupted. "I didn't know. I thought you were here against your will. You didn't tell me."

"Don't you ever get tired of being invisible?" she yelled, a tear streaming down her face. "I'm tired of being invisible, and for once, I wasn't going to be anymore. I was going to be Taylor Holten's Rally Girl this year." She said it like it was some prize she'd won. "You ruined that."

I wanted to shake her out of whatever spell she was under. How could she think being invisible was worse than what they would do to her upstairs? But she wasn't reasonable right now. She was angry, and it wasn't the time to bring any of this up.

"I didn't know," I said. "I'm sorry."

"Sorry," she mocked, her tone laced with anger and sarcasm. "Stay away from me, Sadie. I'm tired of your invisibility rubbing off on me." Alyssa stormed off into the darkness, and I stood confused about what had just happened. I pushed back the tears threatening to fall. Alyssa and I had been friends since we moved to this small college town three years ago. She never said anything to me about feeling invisible. I thought I was saving her from being raped, because that's what Jayden led me to believe.

My jaw clenched as I spun on my heels to face Jayden, leaning against a pillar on the front porch. His face was completely void of any emotion. He looked bored.

"You knew she wanted to be here, didn't you?" I growled, clenching my fist at my side.

"Yeah," he said, pursing his lips as he crossed his arm over his broad chest. "Contrary to popular belief, we don't rape women. We don't need to."

"You're an asshole."

He shrugged. "Alyssa's been trying out for a position as a Rally Girl for three years." He shoved off the pillar with his shoulder. "Poor girl has it bad for Taylor." He dropped his arms to his side, cocking his head slightly. "Your friend is not a virgin either." I tried hard to keep my expression flat. "Your girl has fucked three out of the eight of us." He was lying. "Guess you guys aren't as close as you thought."

"What is wrong with you?" I stormed off toward my house.

My chest heaved with fury as I walked the brightly lit path from the team's party house to my house. I was furious with Jayden, but more than that, I was mad at myself for falling for his stupid game. I made it easy for him to manipulate me, and he'd taken the opportunity without a second thought.

SADIE

The following day,I sat silently studying in the student center with Drew on a red U-shaped couch with a small round black table in the center. Everything was spirit colors in this stupid school.

Still stinging with humiliation from the night before, I hid in an oversized hoodie, tank, and jeans with my hair wrapped up tightly in a neat bun. My scalp was still tender from his aggressive grip, and my torso was raw from excessive scrubbing, trying to erase any evidence of him or what happened last night. I wished I could wash away any memories of the night before entirely, but every time I swallowed, I remembered. Every time my head ached, I remembered. Every time my shirt rubbed against the skin of my torso, I remembered, but most of all, I remembered because Alyssa wasn't here studying with us like she was every day.

"Did you find Alyssa last night?" Drew closed his textbook and dropped it on the table. I nodded without looking up from my book, even though I wasn't reading. "Were they holding her against her will?" No, it turned out they weren't. Alyssa wanted to be a Rally Girl and be gangbanged by all eight of the Untouchables. Apparently, I didn't know my friend at all.

I didn't say that to him, though. I didn't respond at all. "Those boys are always up to no good, but they are damn good players."

The couch next to me sunk in, and I prayed it was Alyssa. My gaze shifted, and my eyes went wide as my jaw dropped. It wasn't Alyssa; it was Jayden.

What the actual fuck?

He sank back into the couch beside me, his legs spread, wide and a pissed-off look directed toward Drew. He slid an arm across the back of the couch, which just so happened to be behind me.

"You should go," Jayden said dryly, his eyes locked on Drew's. Drew's gaze flashed from mine to Jayden's and back to mine.

"Wait." I flashed Jayden a warning looking like he might be intimidated by it. Who the hell is he to tell Drew to leave? "No!"

"It's okay," Drew offered a tight smile before he started to collect his things. "I'll see you tomorrow."

"Don't count on it." Jayden tilted his head with a cocky glimmer in his eyes and a smug grin twitching at his lips.

Drew paused briefly, his eyes wide. He was silently asking me what the hell was going on, but I couldn't answer that question because I had no clue.

"Wait." I pushed to my feet, but before I stood to my full height, his fingers curled into the back of my jeans, and he jerked me back to my seat, holding me in place.

"Bye," Jayden said more as a threat than a pleasantry when Drew stood frozen in place. Drew's gaze dropped to the ground before he scurried off and out of the student center.
