Inod. “Iappreciate the apologies, butIcan’t accept them untilIknow you’ve done the same thing forGeorgia. She’sthe one that deserves the apology for the lies you made.”

Hechuckles nervously. “I’vebeen trying to get her to meet with me soIcould apologize.”

Theadmission makes me smile, knowing thatGeorgiaalready told me herself that she hasn’t responded because she wanted me to be with her when he came to talk.SinceItold herIcouldn’t see him untilIcalmed down about the entire situation, she still hasn’t responded to his messages.

“I’lltalk to her, see what she wants to do.”ThenIstand from my seat and extend a hand out to him.Thetruth is, ifGeorgiais going to be in my life for the rest of it, so isCamden.Weneed to be civil toward one another, and this is the first step at that. “AndIaccept your apologies.”

Heslides his hand into mind, giving it a firm shake, then pulls away with a smile. “Iappreciate that,Bishop.”Thenhe walks back out of my office and the bell ringing above the door is the only indication that it’s only me in here again.

Ionly have a few more papers to review, thenIcan get home to my woman.I’mexcited to see what she’s been up to since she left, soIhurry through the work and hightail it out of the office and into my car.

WhenIpull up in front of the house,Georgia’scar is parked out front but the lights are all off inside.Maybeshe ended up falling asleep?Iknow she’s been tired more often recently.

Herconfession of love was the only thing that could’ve made me change my mind and give her another chance, butIdid feel like an idiot once she explained everything to me.IfIhad gone to her, asking about the momentIsaw between her andCamden, things wouldn’t have been so terrible.

Itold her that nothing would change my mind, but boy how wrongIwas.Witha smile on my face,Itake the steps two at a time and push open the front door, but frown at it being unlocked while she’s asleep.Mynose immediately picks up the scent of something delicious asIwalk through the house, turning into the kitchen to see what she made for dinner, but there’s nothing sitting out.

Sinceshe probably fell asleep,I’mgoing to assume she left the rest in the fridge, but there’s nothing in there either.Iwalk down the hall, heading straight for my room to hold her, but the bed is still as neatly made as it was this morning after we woke up.Insteadof changing clothes likeIwanted to,Iwalk through the first floor and come to a halt at the back door.

There’sGeorgia, standing in the center of the backyard, waiting patiently for me to come outside, with candles lit all around her. She’ssmiling at me asIpush open the door, our plates of food sitting neatly on a small table, andIstride over to her. “What’sall this?”

Shesmiles at me. “Justwanted to show you how muchIlove you, enjoy a meal together on this beautiful night.”

Ibend down, kissing her lips tenderly, then pull a chair out for her before sitting across from her. She’swearing a silk nightgown that falls to the middle of her thighs, looking sexy as ever, and my gaze falls to her breasts before coming back up to her amused expression. “It’sgreat, baby, thank you.Ilove you.”

“Don’tworry,” she says. “There’splenty more to do when we get done eating.”Thewink she sends me just about has me shoving every last bit of food into my mouth, butIdecide to enjoy the meal she planned for us.

Thisis somethingInever came home to before, and beforeIcan think better of it,Iask, “Willyou move in with me?”

Georgia’seyes widen andIcurse myself for being such an idiot, but then she smiles at me. “IthinkIcan do that.”

Iarch a brow. “Think?”

Shenods. “Ournext part of the night might seal the deal for me.”Herteeth sink into her bottom lip andIgroan at the sight, causing her to chuckle.

Thefood is too delicious to leave though. “Wheredid you learn to make this?”

“Mymother, it was one of my favorite dishes she’s made.Iasked her for the recipe the other day, explained whatIwas doing, and she gladly gave it to me.”Sheclears her throat. “It’sa secret recipe, only women in the family can know what it is, and she saidIcan pass this down to our kids.”

“Ourkids?”

Sheshakes her head. “Shit,IguessIshould’ve asked if you wanted kids.Ionly assumed you did becauseIknowIdo, and nowI’mabout to find out you actually don’t want any.Dammit.”

“Baby, take a deep breath,”Isay, giving her a smile. “Iwant kids, that's the entire reasonIbought this house.Mynext relationship after moving here was supposed to be it for me,Iwant everything.Thekids, grandkids, growing old.Allof it.”

“Thankgoodness you say that,” she mutters.

“Why’sthat?”

Sheplaces a shaky hand on the table, looking at me with a hopeful expression on her face, then reaches under the table and hands a box over to me.It’swrapped neatly, with a bow on top, butI’mfairly certain today isn’t a special dayIdon’t know about.

Insteadof questioning why she’s giving me a gift,Itear through the paper quickly and look at the box curiously — it’s white with blue and pink stars on it.

Iglance up at her, but she nervously bites her bottom lip as she stares at the box, soIslowly open it and my eyes widen at what’s inside. There’sa pacifier sitting on top of a white onesie, along with a positive pregnancy.

“Baby, you’re pregnant”

Shenods with a nervous smile. “Surprise!”
