My eyebrows lift. “Me? What did I do?”

“You didn’t tell Noah how sheshouldfeel. You heard her. And you agreed to let her keep the pictures in her room.” Elena shakes her head. “That meant a lot to her, and you gave it to her.”

I graze the tip of my nose against hers. “You’re teaching me how to be a better listener.”

She pulls me back into the bathroom and presses her lips to mine.

I slide my hand into her hair, cradling the back of her head as I deepen the kiss and sweep my tongue inside her mouth. Heat rushes through my veins like it always does whenever I touch this woman.

She lets out a quiet moan as she fists my shirt in her hands, and the vibration of that sound goes straight to my dick.

Noah’s voice interrupts our moment as she yells from the living room. “I found the tree topper!”

I rest my forehead against Elena’s.

“I’ll go out first,” she whispers. “You can calm down that situation in your pants.”

Elena

“Ms. Donaldson, please have a seat.”

I lower myself into the chair opposing my lawyer’s desk. “Thank you for fitting me into your busy schedule.”

“Of course. I was surprised to hear about what’s been going on.” She flips open her notepad. “Tell me more about it.”

I let out a long breath as I wring my hands in my lap. “Neil has been pressuring me to sell the house so he can have his half of it.”

“Pressuring you how?”

“He started by calling and texting me. A lot. Then he showed up at the house last month.”

Her pen pauses on the paper as her eyes flick to mine. “And what did he say when he came to your house?”

“That he wants me to sell because he’s entitled to half of it. He also said the house is too big for me. But his fiancée is pregnant, and I know they could use the money, so that’s the real reason he’s hounding me.”

“I’m glad you came to me. Neil shouldn’t be harassing you to sell the house. You both agreed to the terms of your divorce.” Annalise sets down her pen and leans back in her chair. “Send me the phone log so we have evidence of his texts and calls. Do you have any proof that he came to your house that day?”

I nod. “I have footage from the Ring camera.”

“Good. Email me everything, and I’ll contact his lawyer to let him know that if this behavior continues, he’ll be in violation of his divorce agreement.”

“My friend said I should file a restraining order against him, but I don’t think that’s necessary. Neil wouldn’t do anything to physically harm me.”

She shrugs. “Anyone is capable of anything when money is on the line.”

I rub my forehead. “Sometimes I think that I should move to a smaller house and give him the money so he leaves me alone.”

“You didn’t agree to give him half the housewhenyou sell. You agreed to give him half if you sell. He shouldn’t be persuading you to sell, nor should he be talking to you at all. We’ll put a stop to this.”

I hope so.

After our meeting, I head home.

But when I pull into the driveway, my heart stutters.

Grant and Noah are sitting on my porch with a beautiful bouquet of flowers in Noah’s hands.

I fling open my door. “What’s going on?”
