“Do you think we might need to leave the team at some point? After we catch Killian.”

“Because of Aksel?” I ask.

Griffyn clenches his jaw. “Yeah. If the asshole won’t lay off her.”

“Anna comes first. I hope it doesn’t come to that, but if it does I would leave,” I tell him truthfully.

He looks me dead in the eyes and says, “I would too.”

That tells me more than words ever could. Getting on this team means a lot to Griffyn since he’s an incubus. He worked damn hard to get here. I mean, I did too but my path wasn’t as hard as his.

I clap him on the shoulder and smile, letting him know I see him.

Anna means enough to him to leave this. That’s all I need to know. He’s good for her and she’s damn good for him.

I grab my phone and quickly make the call to the hospital. They tell me Michael is doing well but hasn’t said much about his time locked up.

I hate what that poor kid went through. Once we stop Killian, he won’t do it to another mage again.

Anna

Felix pulls me onto his lap, leaning in to kiss me while Griffyn watches from across the table. He pays special attention to his mark on my neck, getting me worked up.

Aksel comes marching into the living room to interrupt us.

“Anna, we need to get you a dress since you insist on coming to the ball. Let’s go,” Aksel says.

He’s standing in the doorway with his arms crossed smirking at me.

“Was that an invitation or a command? Let me once again remind you that I don’t work for you,” I ask.

Felix runs his hand up my arm.

“It was more of a here’s your chance to not show up in jeans.”

“Why can’t Felix or Griffyn take me?” I lean back into Felix to emphasize my point.

Aksel raises his eyebrows. “I guess they could, but I know more about what you need to wear, I’ve always dressed them, and I’m paying for it. Blaze is out and they need to stay here and keep an eye on Rion.”

“He’s right Kitten, I hate to admit it but I wouldn’t know where to start,” Felix whispers.

I roll my eyes but they’re right and I better take advantage of the good mood Aksel seems to be in. He’s almost playful right now. Is it a full moon?

I stand up, leaning over the edge of the chair to kiss Felix before giving Griffyn the same treatment. I may have aimed my ass at Aksel but who’s to say really?

A hand comes down on my ass, making a clapping noise and making me jump up. I spin around to see a smirking Aksel.

“Stop molesting them and let’s go.”

Aksel Lenoir just spanked me. This is the strangest day of my life.

I glance at Griffyn to see him glaring at Aksel but Felix is just looking at him curiously.

I follow behind the ass-slapper as we make our way to his car. His shiny black SUV in pristine condition is sitting in the garage waiting for him.

He runs his hand across the front before opening his door and getting inside. I think he might be sexually attracted to the thing.
