“She looks terrible!” Griffyn shouts.

“Quiet you idiot! She has the worst migraine I’ve ever seen. You should have seen her before she had my blood,” Felix whispers.

Griffyn comes to my side, kneeling in front of my side of the bed.

“Drink Vixen.” He tilts his head offering me his neck.

His blood calls to me as I drink from him too. I’m more in control than when Felix fed me, so I’m able to stop when I know it’s been too much.

“That was a lot of blood she needed,” Griffyn says to Felix.

“She was in really bad shape,” Felix says. He’s gnawing on his lip.

“She is right here,” I say, trying to sit up.

Both of them rush to my side trying to help me.

“I’m worried, Anna. This was terrible,” Felix says while fitting a pillow behind my back.

“I’m worried too,” I confess. “If neither of you were here, I was rendered immobile.”

“We have to find and kill Killian!” Griffyn slaps the table next to me.

I roll my eyes. “Yes, we do, which is why we’ve been trying to do that! It’s not like we’ve been sitting on our asses!”

Griffyn grabs my hand, still kneeling next to me, and stares into my eyes. “I know, but we are an elite team. The fucking Alpha Team and we need to do better. We are failing you.”

“You’re not failing me. First, we need to deal with Joka tonight then we can get back on track.”

“We need to update the others so they know how serious this is,” Felix says.

He looks between me and the door, clearly torn.

“Go, I’m fine.”

He nods, leaning in to press a kiss to my forehead before leaving me alone with Griffyn.

“I just weakened both of you before tonight,” I say, horrified.

“You needed our blood. That’s all there is to it.”

Blaze busts into the room, his frantic eyes searching for me. They calm only slightly when he sees me sitting up on the bed.

He rushes to my side, stopping short at the end of the bed.

“You’re okay?” He asks.

He was this worried about me?

“Yes, I’m doing much better since Griffyn and Felix fed me. This stupid amulet is starving me and I can’t keep up with it.”

“Do you need more?” He asks.

“No. You need your strength. I’ve already stolen Felix and Griffyn’s.”

He looks torn, but I have no idea why. Blaze grips my foot under the covers from the end of the bed, giving it a slight squeeze before sitting in the chair in the corner.

I guess he’s not leaving. Everything has been so crazy I still haven’t gotten to confront him about being my mate. All I know is I’m glad he told me, even if it wasn’t as soon as he knew.
