"You took everything away from me! First, you took advantage of me and then ran off with another girl like a complete jerk," she exclaimed, anger seething in her voice.

"He's not the same Ethan anymore, dear," Olivia interjects, stepping in to reassure Luna.

"And how would you know that?" Luna questioned skeptically.

"I have been with him for a long time, and I can swear on my life that he's not the playboy he used to be," Olivia reassures, her voice filled with conviction.

"I'm still not convinced," Luna states stubbornly.

"Well, what do you want?" I question, breaking the unpleasant pause that exists between us.

"Give me $500,000 and I'll leave you alone." After a little pause, Luna resumes speaking, her voice tinted with resolve.

"So, it was all about money," I respond, feeling annoyed and disappointed. "I always knew you were a gold digger."

Olivia firmly grasps my hand and then yanks me to the side and away from Luna. "Listen, Ethan. Just give her what she wants. Your reputation is more important than money at the moment." She starts speaking as her eyes met mine.

"I understand, Olivia, but $500,000?" I cry out, still having trouble accepting the request.

"Come on, $500,000 won't even make a difference in your back account," Olivia says sarcastically but in a serious tone.

I think about what she had said for a bit. "Okay, I believe you are correct. I agree to your terms, Luna, but first, I need you to take back all your accusations." I firmly say.

Luna takes out her phone and dials a number, presumably reaching out to the reporter who had initially published the false news. "Take back all my accusations from your channel and inform everyone that the news was fake," she instructs, her voice tense with determination.

"Send me your bank account details, Luna," I request, ready to fulfill her demand.

Luna sends me her bank account number, and I promptly transfer the agreed-upon amount of $5,000. It’s a bitter reminder of the consequences of my past as a playboy, paying my ex-lover for a mistake that haunts me still.

All uncertainty and anxieties vanish at this point, to be replaced with a rekindled feeling of trust and a closer bond. We fiercely hug each other as we promise to weather any storm that may come our way. We have endured hardships, which have strengthened our love.

Eversincebeingina relationship with Ethan, my life has been a rollercoaster ride for me. His troubled past has not only tested my patience but also taught me much about Ethan and how he has transformed himself into a proud man.

Our recent encounter with Ethan's ex-lover wasn’t any different. After his playboy activities, we expected something like this to happen sooner or later.

With our fingers entwined as we leave Luna's home, Ethan's burden from unfounded charges is finally gone. The pink and orange tones in the dusk sky reflect the feelings that are roiling inside me. I experience a mixture of relief, appreciation, and a rekindled love for Ethan, who has resisted these unjust accusations with unyielding fortitude.

We go back to Ethan's vehicle, and he opens the door for me before getting in. I get in and am instantly welcomed by the comfortable leather seats. I take a deep breath and shut the door after giving the situation some time to sink in. We have emerged from this storm more resilient, and our love has been put to the test, but we came out stronger.

I cast a quick look at Ethan, who has a combination of resolve and thankfulness in his eyes. He pushes the start button and the car's engine hums to life, signifying a new beginning and a blank page on which we may rewrite our tale. By driving away, we leave the complex web of lies and deception behind when we leave Luna's home.

"That was one scary situation," I exclaim, relief evident in my voice.

"Indeed, it was, but I'm glad we faced yet another battle together," he says, his smile bringing a sense of comfort.

"I'm glad too!" I agree. "Can you imagine the impact it would have had on our reputation, your basketball career, and my art gallery if Luna hadn't retracted her accusations?" I continue, contemplating the close call we had just experienced.

"We certainly dodged a bullet," he remarks, acknowledging the gravity of the situation.

"So, what are your plans for today?" I inquire, curious about his schedule.

"Well, actually, I have a basketball practice match today, so I'll be heading there," he replies. "Do you want me to drop you off somewhere?" he offers.

"Yes, please drop me off at my art gallery. I have some changes to make on a few of my paintings," I respond, grateful for his willingness to accommodate my needs.
