“Saw?” Heather asked.

“I told you,” Daisy said, pointing her finger. “You didn’t believe me and you said you wouldn’t look it up.”

“I didn’t want to think about a saw on my leg. What if I get cut?”

He grinned. “I’ve done this a lot. I promise not to cut you.”

“Do you cut it in more than one piece?” Daisy asked. “Or down one side and then just pull it apart? I’ve got this idea in my head it’s like when I’m removing a mold, but that is silicone and more flexible.”

“Silicone?” he asked.

“I’m a jewelry maker. Designer. Whatever title you want to put to it. I work with gold, silver, stainless steel. I create molds for new designs and have to cast them. I wanted to see how this worked.”

“Ah,” he said. “That’s fascinating and makes sense with why you are interested in how this is removed. I wasn’t sure if you were just into saws.”

Both girls started to laugh and he figured he’d done a good job of showing his flexibility by putting his foot in his mouth.

“We both work at Blossoms,” Heather said. “I’m in the greenhouses. Well, you know that if you remember when you asked me what I did and if I’d be able to work or not. But Daisy works in the retail shop. Or in the back with Rose Bloom-Klein.”

He nodded his head. He knew of the business because it was based locally though they sold their products nationwide. Otherwise he’d had no reason to go in and check things out.

“I guess that explains why you two smell the way you do.”

More laughter and he realized now that was inappropriate to say and he wished to hell he’d find some of those brain cells his sisters said he had in abundance.

“Heather wears her products more than me. Though I love hers, in the summer, I like the fruit scents more. Plus I just came from work and the whole shop smells like a fruit and flower field together. It’s pleasant and it lingers on you too.”

He nodded again. No way he was adding to this conversation and making a bigger fool of himself.

“I’ll be right back with the saw,” he said.

A Girl Could Dream

“You’re embarrassing him,” Heather said to her.

“He’s so cute,” Daisy whispered.

“But you saw he was embarrassed, right?”

“I did,” she said. “It’s taking your mind off of the saw, right?”

“It is,” Heather agreed. “Thanks for that.”

“I didn’t see a ring on his hand. Do you think he’s married? That will totally ruin my dreams tonight if he is.”

“No ring doesn’t mean anything. Even if he’s not married, he could be in a relationship.”

“I’m sure,” she said. “He’s way too good of a catch not to be.”

Heather grinned at her. “As I told you before, you have no idea. You just know he’s good with his patients.”

She was going to say something else but stopped when the door opened and the sexy doctor walked back in.

She took notice of his black pants, light green button-down shirt that had silver pinstripes in it. He had a lab coat on now, but it was open and she saw the shirt still.

“Do you plan on getting dirty?” she asked. She couldn’t resist and she wanted to take Heather’s mind off of this.
