“It doesn’t matter.” He shook his head wanting to get everything out on the table. “I know I’m not everything that is on your list but—”

“My list?” She looked back at him.

“The list you told that producer about. I don’t have a college degree. I don’t even have a GED and—”

“Wait? Did you…? I didn’t…I mean, I wrote that because two guys I dated didn’t have jobs and I had to support them. I was just trying to set a higher standard for myself.”

“I know and that’s what I’m saying, I don’t have—”

“I don’t care. How could you even think… you areso muchmore than that. You are the most talented artist, you just got back from shooting a TV show. I mean…you are…amazing.I didn’t think, when you said that you weren’t the man I deserved, that you couldn’t give me the things I wanted, I thought that you were sayingyoudidn’t want anything serious.”

“I didn’t. Or at least, I didn’t think I did. I wasn’t looking for it. But then I met you and I can’t stop thinking about you. You are all that matters to me. I found out yesterday I can tattoo again and—”

“You can?!” she gasped and stopped dancing.

“Yeah.” He nodded with a smile as he lifted his hand to show her. “I can and I did. Last night.”

“Is that…” Her fingers ran over it.

“It’s you. It’s your eye.”

She looked up at him and he saw that her actual eyes were getting misty.

“When the doctor told me that I was all good, that I was back to a hundred percent, I was happy but I didn’t care as much as I thought I would. Tattooing used to be everything to me. It was my life. I needed it. But now it’s not. If I had to pick between picking up a tattoo gun, or you, it wouldn’t even be close. It’s you, Kennedy. You are everything to me. I love you and I want to marry you. I want to move to Whisper Lake. I want a family with you. When I saw those tests this morning, I was…excited. When you said that they weren’t for you, I was…disappointed. More than disappointed.”

Her face went pale. “You were?”

“I was. When I saw you at the hospital, holding Jasmine I had this flash of you in a nursery holding our baby. Of you being pregnant. Of you walking down the aisle toward me. Of me getting on one knee and asking you to marry me.”

“You did?”

“Yes, I did.”

“Well, um,” she licked her lips and took a deep breath. “I have something to tell you, then. Those tests weren’t for me, but I did take one after I got a call from production. They told me that my blood work had come back from my physical and I’m pregnant. That’s why I’m not doing the show.”

Seb couldn’t believe what he was hearing. Had all of his dreams just come true? Was he really that lucky?

“Wait, I thought you said you were on the pill?”

“I was, but remember those allergies I had when I sneezed and your mom heard?”

He nodded.

“Well, that turned into a sinus infection, and I took antibiotics. I didn’t even think about it because…well, I don’t know why I didn’t think about it. When you look at me, I can’t really think at all.”

“You’re pregnant?” he asked again, just needing to hear her say it.

She looked around and then back at him. “Yes.”

His face split in a wide smile and he wrapped his arms around her and picked her up.

“No, don’t.”

He immediately put her down. “Did I hurt you? Did I hurt the—”

“No.” Her eyes were wide and she grabbed his hand before it could touch her belly. “But I don’t want anyone to know anything yet. Not here, not at Laura’s wedding.”

“You’re right,” he agreed. “Sorry.”
