Keeping my arm around Rynn, I led her away as she pulled out her phone and started texting a message out quickly. I didn’t have to ask who she was texting, knowing it was an employee of the hotel. After Kian and Jace showed up last night, we’d come up with a plan to keep them busy while we slipped away to deal with the whole reason we were here.

“They’re going to try to follow when we leave,” she muttered under her breath.

“I’ll stay back to make sure they can’t,” I told her quietly. “Everything else is in place. We’ll make it work.”

She jerked a nod before tugging out of my hold and forcing a smile on her face as she strolled to the closest table, which was already full of guys who were anxious to start playing. We had four tables, and the penthouse was packed with dangerous men who no doubt had weapons on them. The night was supposed to be for fun, but all it would take was one fight to break out for shit to hit the fan. There was a reason we’d only supplied beer tonight; hard liquor would make things sloppy fast.

Rynn started passing out the poker chips, and I watched Jace and Kian having a whispered conversation in the kitchen. I sighed, twisting my tongue ring. Having them here was going to make this night harder. It was also grating my nerves that their attention never strayed far from Rynn. And their gazes weren’t full of anger or revenge, even after what she’d done to them. It would make everything much easier if they hated her. Shaking my head, I grabbed the other case of poker chips and moved to the other table to hand them out.

Tonight needed to go off without a hitch, and even with Kian and Jace here, I’d make sure it still happened how it was supposed to.

Two hours later, everything was going just as we planned. Well, except for the two assholes who couldn’t keep their eyes off Rynn. But they’d been staying quiet, acting as if they were interested in watching the poker games. Other than a few tense moments after some large bets, there hadn’t been any issues. The guys were having fun playing and chatting like we wanted.

Kian’s friend, Reese, had been sending hopeful glances to Rynn all night, as if he actually had a chance with her. He was the least of my concerns tonight, but it didn’t stop me from keeping an eye on him too.

Rynn caught my gaze when she walked toward the kitchen to grab her bag, and my pulse thudded as I stood up. I texted out a quick message to the hotel employee, hoping he’d done what he was supposed to do. With how much we were lining his pocket, he’d be stupid to fuck this up. After putting my phone back in my pocket, I wandered over to the couch where Jace and Kian were, purposefully standing in their way as I shot them a smirk.

“Enjoying yourselves?” I asked, crossing my arms.

Suspicion flashed in Jace’s eyes. “What do you want?”

Kian was trying to look around me, and I shifted to the left, blocking his view of the door. “What am I doing? You’re the ones crashing the party. You’re lucky I haven’t thrown your asses out.”

“No worries,” Kian replied coolly, getting to his feet. “We’ll leave.”

It was obvious he’d seen Rynn exit, and I planted my feet, my muscles tensing when Jace stood up, putting himself next to Kian. Rynn had assured me there was still animosity between them, but right now, they were a unified front, looking like they’d do whatever they had to so they could follow her. I wasn’t going to get in their way. I just needed to give her a head start. And I could piss them off at the same time.

“Just so you’re aware, even if it might not look like it right now, Rynn ismine.” I kept my voice soft, but my warning was crystal clear. “Stay the fuck away from her.”

Jace went rigid, his gaze turning stormy. “You’re saying you’re together?”

“Yes.”

Rynn was going to have my balls for that answer. She’d explicitly told me that even if we were having sex, it didn’t mean we were together. At this moment, I didn’t give a fuck.

“We’ll talk about it later. We need to leave.” Kian stared at me. “You’re going to try and stop us?”

I stepped to the side, sweeping my arm in front of me. “Go right ahead. Good luck. You won’t find her.”

Jace scowled. “Motherfucker. Distracting us? It means we were right—she’s up to something.”

I shrugged, and they both glared at me for a split second longer before they rushed across the room to leave. Reese and a couple other guys were discreetly watching, but they turned back to their game as I strode by, nodding to one of my guys who was going to finish the poker night. Making sure my gun was tucked into my waistband, I tugged open the door Jace and Kian had just exited through.

I chuckled, seeing Kian jab his finger on the only working elevator button. There were two elevators in this short hall, but one was out of service. Well, it was for right now. The stairwell was also locked to make sure the solo elevator was the only way down. Both of them had their backs to me, and I silently crept closer as Kian started talking.

“I doubt she found the tracker I slipped in her bag,” Kian muttered as he watched the numbers on the screen while the elevator climbed to the penthouse. “We’ll find her.”

I clenched my fists, annoyance jolting through my veins at his words. I was going to have to be a lot more careful with them around. I didn’t need them eavesdropping any more than they already had. It didn’t matter right now though; they wouldn’t get the chance to find her.

Jace saw me out of the corner of his eye, and he spun around, immediately on guard. His eyes darted behind me, suspicion swimming in his gaze when he saw that I was alone. Kian faced me, his brows furrowing as he stared at me, as if trying to figure out what I was doing. Then Jace relaxed slightly, leaning against the wall near the elevator doors, forcing a small grin.

“Did you know thatyourgirl was with both of us?” Jace questioned.

I forced myself to keep calm. “She told me. See what happens when you think with your small dicks? She got away from you, just like she planned.”

Kian snickered. “Is that what she said?”
