"No shit," I bark.

He takes another puff of his cigar. "Did ya call security?"

"Of course I called security. Mayberry's with her now."

Dad nods. "She'll be fine. Plus, Killian's got his security team on Arianna."

I shake my head and pull my hair, pacing some more.

Dad instructs, "Tynan, ya need to pull it together."

I turn to him. "I'll pull it together when it's your wife being watched so they can kidnap her to fulfill a signed contract."

Dad arches his eyebrows. "Contract?"

I pick up the piece of paper and hand it to him.

He reads it, and his expression turns to one of disgust. "Fucking pigs."

I growl, "Aye, they are. Should have killed them when I had the chance."

"Well, you'll always have a chance," he claims, his eyes darkening.

I stare at him. "We've had threats before, but this is my wife. Her fucking da signed her away. I swear to God, when I find Malachy, I'm killing him."

Dad says nothing. He knows the predicament I'm in if I kill Malachy and Maeve ever finds out.

But now, Malachy crossed the line. He signed his daughter away to those two thugs to share her and do all sorts of things to her, only to save his own ass. He deserves everything that's coming to him.

"They still haven't found him," Dad states.

My gut drops. It's not like I didn't know this information, but hearing him say it out loud reminds me how fucked I am. "I'm going to kick their asses if they don't locate him soon."

Dad puts his cigar down on the ashtray and crosses his arms. "When are ya planning on going back to Ireland?"

My chest tightens. I've been wanting to talk to him about staying here, but the look on his face says that's not happening.

He adds, "You can't hide here forever."

"Hide? I'm not hiding."

"Aren't ya now?"

"What am I hiding from?"

He peers at me closer, asserting, "Oh, I don't know. Maybe Maeve finding out that ya sent her da to London to hide him away from her. Or maybe he might return to get back into her life."

I argue, "I'm not hiding from him. I'm not scared of him."

Dad continues looking at me. "You can't hide out in New York."

"I'm not hiding out in New York. I just like it better. Maeve and I both fit in better here," I assert.

"You've let your business dealings go in Ireland. They're going down the shitter."

"No, they're not," I insist.

"They are. They're facing problems, and your brothers can only handle so much. They've got their own businesses. You're being irresponsible," Dad accuses.
