“I was wondering…” he trails off. His cheeks pink under his tan, and I can’t help but smile. Sometimes Jax can be soft, and it warms my heart to no end.

“Spit it out, big man,” I joke, even though he watches me with an intensity that makes the smile fall off my face. “Seriously, what is it?” My stomach clenches with nerves. Is he about to break up with me? Is he regretting everything that happened? What if he doesn't want this? What if he…?

Clearing his throat, he clasps my fingers in his palm and squeezes. “I was just curious…seeing as you like your new place and all, I was kind of wondering which room will be mine.”

It takes a second for my brain to catch up with his words. I stammer and stutter while his mouth stretches into a wide grin. “Are—are you serious? Like, you’re not fucking with me right now? If you are, I’m seriously going to murder you and the guys will have to hide the body.”

He shakes his head at my dramatics. “Dead serious, baby girl. You’re gonna need someone to help you run your new studio, right?” My heart is about to fly out of my chest. Happiness crashes over me in waves until I feel like I might actually cry. Luca shifts next to me but he doesn't wake up. River grumbles in his sleep. “So, which is it, huh? Unless you wanna let me share with you…” he says cheekily.

I'm so overcome with emotion that I let the tears freefall. I can suddenly picture my future laid out in front of me. I can see Jax and I here in this studio teaching dance the way we always dreamed of as kids. I can see the four of us lounging around in my new apartment, making love, making jokes, and making a life together.

I want this future so badly that it hurts, but I know in my heart that I can have it. I can have everything that I want and there’s not a single thing standing in my way now. I finally have it all. My career, my family, my home…and I finally have my boys of summer, back where they all belong.

Suddenly, Rivers's hand comes down, smacking Jax in the forehead while I jump in surprise. Both of us look over at a sleepy-eyed Riv and raise our eyebrows simultaneously. River grumbles, “You’ll have to fight me for it, bud. I get first dibs on Nora’s comfy bed.”

Jax grins deviously and shoves River off the side of the bed until he thumps onto the ground with an audible bang. “Accepted, we fight at dawn.”

The End.
