"Oh, Thor. Is that garlic bread, Gray?" Kennedy looked like she'd gone completely white.

Grayson cleared his throat. "Um. Yes?"

"Excuse me!" she squeaked before jumping up and running for the bathroom. Zen watched her go before he stood up and grinned. All eyes were on him as he tucked his hands in his pockets.

"I guess now's a good time to tell you all Kennedy's pregnant." His wife was throwing up, but I don't think I'd ever seen him look happier. He quickly made his way to the bathroom, shutting himself inside with her.

"That explains why they've been acting so weird lately," Amara said with a knowing smile.

"Should we wait for them to eat?" Maddox asked, eyeing the food.

Grayson shook his head. "No, I doubt she'll be able to come back. We should just eat."

We all dished up, catching up over the delicious food Gray made. "Mad, where have you been the last couple of weeks?" I asked.

A shadow passed over his face. "Texas."

"Texas?" What the fuck?

"You remember, that's where I'm from?" He moved Phoenix from one arm to the other carefully.

"Duh." I rolled my eyes, and Jericho snorted next to me.

"I went home." Jericho and I glanced at each other. Home? Maddoxnevertalked about Texas. When we were teenagers, he and I met online and through some crazy shit he ended up running away and coming to live with my family when he was sixteen. Even though I'd known him for so long, I had no idea what his life was like before he came to live with me.

"Are you going back?" I asked, my fork halfway to my mouth.

He sighed. "Unfortunately. I have some shit I have to handle. It might take me a couple of months."

Jerico spoke up. "If you need anything, you know we'll come with you in a heartbeat, right?" I think we could both sense that whatever he was dealing with, it wasn't easy on him.

He nodded. "Thanks." The finality in his tone let us know he was done talking.

The rest of dinner passed uneventfully, but Grayson was right, Kennedy and Zen never came back to the table. "I guess we'll see them tomorrow and get the details," Amara said, her warm breath brushing over my skin as goosebumps broke out along my neck.

"Let's get out of here," I said after collecting the baby from Jericho. Amara grabbed her bag, and we walked home.

When we got inside, I laid Phoenix down in her crib, turning on her nightlight and grabbing the baby monitor. I closed the door softly and met Amara outside, where we'd hung a hammock. She was stretched out in it, and I dropped down next to her. I wrapped myself around her and breathed her in.

"This is perfect," I hummed against her hair, her cinnamon-honey scent surrounding me as we rocked gently in the breeze.

Her fingers teased up and down my chest and abs, and I felt every single movement shoot straight to my cock. Her voice broke through my lust-filled haze. "You know the Grammys are coming up."

"Mmhmm." I wrapped a silky strand of her hair around my finger, twirling it absently.

"Think you'll get nominated?"

"Montana thinks so. Harrison, too."

"That would be so impressive if you did. Everything you put into this, no one deserves it more than you do." She sat up a little, her eyes finding mine in the dark. "I'm proud of you."

I leaned over and kissed her, and she melted into me, her lips parting as our tongues moved against each other. I pulled back gently. "Thanks, honey."

She settled back in against my chest. "How's GRLFRND doing?" I asked.

"I got an offer from one of the big tech companies. They want to pay me a ton of money for it, but it's kind of like my other baby. I'm not sure what I want to do. What do you think?"

Rubbing her back, I considered what our life was life before answering. "I think you should sell it. You made it what you wanted, you put it out into the world, but do you really want to have to build a company and maintain running it?"
