He still couldn’t believe Butch had agreed to it. The idea had been a gamble, but he’d given a great deal of thought to what images to use. In the end, he’d researched images with specific meanings, and he had to admit, the compass and flower were perfect.

Butch was quiet, and Sol wasn’t sure if that was because he didn’t like the feeling of Tanner’s needle, or because he’d retreated deep inside himself to think and reflect. The compass on his left arm was completed relatively quickly, but the lotus flower required more time. Every now and then, Tanner would check Butch was okay, but for the most part he worked in silence, and the only sounds in the salon were the buzzing of the needle and the soft music in the background.

Three hours later, Tanner was done. He covered the tattoos with clear wrap, and secured them with tape before handing Butch a leaflet about caring for a new tattoo. Butch kept staring at the lotus flower, executed in shades of red, orange, and yellow, with glossy, lush green leaves surrounding it.

“It’s even better than I expected,” Sol admitted. And when the redness faded, the colors would be awesome.

Butch glanced at the clock on the wall. “I’d better get you back to the ranch.”

The hint of reluctance in his voice mirrored Sol’s own feelings.

I don’t want the day to end like this.

He wanted more time with Butch.

Sol paid Tanner, and Butch appeared uncomfortable.

“I should pay for these.”

Sol shook his head. “This was my idea. I’m not going to let you pay for them.” He inclined his head toward the door. “We’d better go.”

They both thanked Tanner once more, and then walked out into the sunshine.

“Where were you planning on sleeping tonight?” Sol asked as they crossed the street.

“With you—if that’s okay.”

Sol beamed. “More than okay. Have any of the guys commented about your absence the last two nights?”

“Sure they have, but I’m sayin’ nothing.” Butch unlocked the truck. “There’s only one thing I need to know.”

The pause that followed intrigued the hell out of him. “And what’s that?”

“Will we be doing much sleeping?”

Sol’s laughter caused several heads to turn in their direction.

“Not much, no, but I’ll be sure to be careful around your tattoos. And I hope you enjoyed last night, because whatever we end up doing, you don’t get to come.”

“How long this time?”

“That depends on how long I decide to leave you in the cock cage.”

The hitch in Butch’s breathing was delicious.

Chapter 48

Butch found Sol in the main room of the Leather barn, peering into one of the cabinets. There was no one in sight, but voices came from over their heads. Cries. Moans. Groans.

Butch’s face grew warm when he realized what he was hearing, and he had to adjust his crotch.

Sol glanced at him and chuckled. “Well, that isn’t going to work.”

“What isn’t?”

He pointed to Butch’s erection. “You need to be soft if I’m going to get this on you.” He held up a shiny metal contraption, and Butch saw instantly that it was one of the cock cages he’d seen on the club website.

He grinned. “You could help me get rid of it.”
