“Skylar, you coming?” Lila asked as she threw her bags in the back of the SUV.

“She’s coming with me,” Dyllan answered.

“What?” Skylar and Lila asked at the same time.

He took a step closer, looking past her at his friends as he whispered in her ear. “You’re my wife. You ride with me.”

She nodded, turning to face their friends. “I’m going with him.”

“Are you sure?” Kade asked, tilting her head as her eyes darted back and forth between them.

“I’m sure,” she answered. She stood up straight, but her voice wavered.

“Hmm, alright,” Kade replied, placing her luggage in the back and walking back to them. She hugged Skylar while shooting a look at Dyllan. “You sure?”

“Yup.” Skylar nodded, hugging her friend back.

“Be nice,” Kade pointed a finger at him before turning back to her ride.

“I’m always nice,” he responded but knew it fell on deaf ears.

He was usually nice. The petite blonde next to him seemed to bring out a side of him he wasn’t all that familiar with.

Reaching over, he grabbed her carry-on, slinging it over his shoulder and reaching for her roller case. “Come on, let’s get going.”

Her heels clacked against the pavement as she rushed to keep up with him. “You didn’t have to take my bags. I’m perfectly capable of doing it on my own.”

“I know,” he grunted.

“So let me take them.” She stomped her foot as she clenched her hands at her sides.

“No.” He didn’t look back or slow his pace.

“Aargh!” She exclaimed as the clacking sped up. Reaching his truck, he threw open the rear doors, throwing their bags inside, before opening the passenger door for her. She halted a few steps before him, crossing her arms as she narrowed her gaze at him.

“What?” He asked, raising his eyebrow at her.

“You’re infuriating; you know that?” She sighed as she narrowed her gaze at him.

“How? For taking your bags and opening your door?” His patience was running thin at her questioning his behaviour. Why couldn’t she just accept what he was doing for her?

“Yes,” she said, exasperated, as she rolled her eyes.

He took a step toward her. “Get used to it, babydoll.” He smirked as she smiled. “I can only be a gentleman outside of the bedroom. Might as well just accept it when you get it. Don’t think for a second that I’ll forget about what happened on the plane and why I had to sneak out to the bathroom to change as soon as we landed.” He kissed her on her cheek before taking a step back, hand out in a grand gesture for her to climb in.

Skylar huffed, and it was the most adorable thing he’d ever seen. She brushed past him, rubbing her ass across his groin as she hiked herself up into the cab of his truck.

He grabbed her hips, holding her still to him. “You don’t want to play that game, babydoll.”

She yelped as he smacked her ass. He smiled to himself as he walked to the driver’s side of the truck.

Yup, being married was going to be fun.

Chapter Thirteen

Skylar

Skylar had no idea what had come over her the day before on the plane. She’d never been so bold with someone, and she certainly never entertained the thought of doing something like that in public. There was something about Dyllan that made her want to be a little bolder. More passionate.
