I hope they figure it out soon.

An easy silence falls between us as we look into one another’s eyes. His gaze is penetrating and all I see is loving shining back at me.

The spell is broken by the shrill sounds of clanking glass. I glance around the room to find our family smiling at us as they tap their champagne flutes with the silverware.

Kyle cups my face and leans lower. “I love you,” he says against my lips.

“And I love you, my husband.”

He captures my lips in a kiss that curls my toes.

When he pulls back, he rests his forehead against mine. The both of us are slightly breathless.

“It’ll always be like this between the two of us,” he promises. Then he glances around the room, his face falls. “Do you think she’ll be okay with it?”

I look past my shoulder to see Eve giggling as she dances with a group of her new cousins and Stasi.

“She will,” I say.

“What if—” I press a kiss to his lips.

“She loves you,” I tell him, though, to be honest, I’m a little nervous about what we plan to talk to Eve about during our trip.

But the mood is too good to dwell on that.

All I want right now is to revel in the love between me and Kyle and our family. In this moment.
