Beau claimed to be head over heels for her and that he’d never felt this way before. She believed him. She’d known him forever. She’d never seen him act romantic for another girl. She’d never known him to buy flowers or chocolate-covered strawberries.

So yes, she believed his feelings were real.

She just didn’t know why she couldn’t get rid of her v-card for real.

“I’m just saying, you don’thaveto sleep with Beau Hebert. There are lots of other options,” Savannah said, nodding in the direction of Luke Swanson.

Luke had been her lab partner last semester and she’d hoped back then that he’d ask her out for months. He never had. He’s always been very nice and friendly, but he’d never made a move.

Now that she was with Beau, Luke had asked her out twice and had almost kissed her at a party last month. One Beau hadnotbeen at, of course.

Luke no longer gave her even one tingle.

Which was a little…concerning.

She didn’t want to go out with Luke. She didn’t have any intention of doing anything with Luke. But she didn’t find him attractive anymore? All of a sudden?

Had Beau ruined her for other men?

Without even officially sleeping with her?

She might be in really big trouble if that was the case.

Unless Beau was going to marry her.

And that thoughtdidgive her tingles.

Luke noticed them looking in his direction and grinned. Then started toward them.

“Well, crap,” Becca muttered.

“Just talk to him. You deserve to havesomeonehere appreciating how hot you look if your boyfriend is going to hang out in Autre playing with his wood by himself.”

Becca snorted. Savannah often teased about Beau’s “wood” and his “tools” and how much “nailing”, “pounding”, and “screwing” he did. Even in front of him. Beau wasn’t amused by it. But Savannah amused herself enough for both of them.

“Hi, Becca,” Luke greeted.

“Hey, Luke.”

“You look great. How are you? We haven’t talked in a while.”

A whilemeant about two weeks. She’d seen him crossing campus between two of her classes not that long ago. “Good. Really good.”Still very virginal, but other than that good. “How about you?”

“Good.” He looked around. “Are you here alone tonight?”

Savannah cleared her throat. “Uh, hi.”

He gave her a grin. “I meant, I don’t see Becca’s very big, very protective boyfriend anywhere.”

Becca didn’t either. “He’s on his way.”

“Too bad.”

“Is it?” Becca tipped her head and studied Luke. She wasn’t sure why she’d asked the question. Though shewascurious what he meant.

“Sure. I was kind of hoping you’d broken up. No offense.”

“Why?” she asked. Maybe it was the really strong punch. “You could have asked me out before Beau and I started dating. Iwantedyou to. But you never did. Why are you acting interested now? Because nothing can actually happen since I’m with him? This is just dumb flirting?”
