It was an elegant Italian restaurant, complete with tablecloths, opera music playing over the stereo, and the smell of fresh bread and garlic in the air. Stacey took the seat between Tristan and Callie. They ordered drinks and went back to a conversation Adler started in the car about a YouTube video he watched. Callie acted interested in him. Stacey watched as she flirted with him and leaned in with a bubbly and slightly annoying shrill laugh.

But then the server came and took their orders.

He was very personable, and Callie started openly flirting with him. She actually reached out and held his arm while she asked him what he would suggest. Tristan and Stacey were both wide-eyed, and Tristan put his hand on Adler’s shoulder to keep him from confronting the situation.

“What the hell was that about?” Adler’s voice came out a little louder than necessary as soon as the server left. “Hey!” He grabbed her shoulder, pulling her body toward him.

She was turned, watching the rear of the server as he walked away.

“You’re here with me. Eyes back on the table, please.” He snapped his fingers in front of her face.

Her hands came up with her palms flat. “I don’t understand what your problem is. I can talk with whoever I want.”

Adler’s eyes went wide. “Not when you’re on a date with me.”

“Relax, Addie. We aren’t married, you know.” Callie ran her fingers through his hair. “I’ll be in your bed tonight. That’s what matters.”

Stacey thought she was going to throw up. The girl was ridiculous.

Adler turned away. The stress level at the table was thick.

“Thank God our food’s here.” Tristan had a look of relief across his face. “And with a different server.”

Stacey chuckled, and Adler shot daggers.

The meal was good, and it was the quietest meal Stacey could remember. She and Tristan passed gazes between them. Neither of them knew what to say to break the awkward silence. Adler stared at his plate as he ate. Never once looking up. Callie ate a salad, or rather picked at her salad, as she didn’t eat most of the vegetables that were in it.

Eventually, they finished eating and had a few drinks when Callie got up to use the restroom. Time ticked by, and her seat sat empty.

“What the hell’s her hold up?” Adler threw his napkin on the table. “No one takes this long to use the bathroom.”

She had been gone at least fifteen minutes. That was a bit excessive.

“Bro, calm down,” Tristan’s voice was almost a whisper.

Stacey placed her napkin on the table and stood. “I’ll go check on her. Make sure she’s okay.” She brushed Tristan’s shoulder as she walked away.

This girl is crazy. I don’t have a good feeling about this.Stacey pushed open the bathroom door.

The bathroom was empty. There was no one at the sinks, but one of the stalls was occupied, and she could hear some soft noises. Stacey was about to call out for Callie when she noticed her shoes under one of the stalls, but she wasn’t alone.

Her stilettos had company. Black shoes. Men’s shoes.

“Holy shit.” Stacey breathed. Her hand went to her mouth.

The quiet, breathy sounds she heard at first, and didn’t think anything about, quickly became louder and turned to panting.

They’re doing it in the stall.Should she be grossed out or pissed? Not sure.

The panting became soft expressions of enjoyment.

Stacey had to press her hand over her mouth to hide her combination of a gasp and laughter.

Suddenly expletives came from the stall, and the door flew open. Callie and their hot server, both spilled out, falling onto the floor—her dress up to her boobs and his pants down at his ankles.

A mom who had just entered the bathroom with her daughter screamed and turned the little girl around. Luckily, the little girl had her face in a cell phone and didn’t see anything but was complaining about needing to pee as her mom clasped her hand over her daughter’s eyes and shouted for a manager.

Stacey stood there, her mouth gaping open. All eyes locked on each other. The server looked scared to death. Callie looked shocked. Stacey shook her head and left as a manager came to see what the mom was fussing about.
