He dropped his bag on the floor, his coat on the chair beside them, and took her face in his hands.
“Two seconds, peaches. Are you in love with Handsy Matt?” Aidan growled, his thumb sliding over her cheek.
“No,” she finally answered quietly.
With a deep growl, Aidan dropped his mouth to hers.
Hard.
Then she let him in, and Aidan thrust his tongue inside, tasting that sweet heaven once more. They eagerly lapped at one another, smooth lips moving together greedily as Lily turned to rubber in his arms.
When he felt her wobble, Aidan slid an arm around her, palming the small of her back and tugged her against him.
“Easy, baby,” Aidan said, steadying her as she drew in long breaths.
Hell, he was doing the same.
His heart swelled with happiness just having her back in his arms. And that she wasn’t in love with her boss.
He’d never expected to feel like this about her. Whatthiswas, he still wasn’t sure. Only that with every mile he’d flown overnight felt like it had taken a year.
Aidan had opened his phone and scrolled through the photos he’d taken of her. Some she knew about, most she didn’t.
He more than liked Lily, and he sure as hell wasn’t letting her boss put his fucking hands on his girl again.
Because shewashis and now, he had to convince this sweet submissive peach of his that despite their differences, this could work.

“Why didn’t you just answer me?” He frowned.
Lily shook her head and dropped her eyes. He took her chin and lifted them right the fuck back up to his.
“Aidan, stop.”
“Try again,” he growled softly.
“It was a private conversation with my mom.”
“Try harder.”
She scoffed and tried to pull away. In the hallway, he could hear the sounds of the hospital and knew they didn’t have much time. When Lily began to squirm, he let her go. She took a step away and lifted her pretty eyes to his.
“You can push me away, Lily, but I didn’t fly all this distance to roll over. That’s not who I am.”
Crossing her arms, she nodded. “I know. But why are you here, Aidan?”
“For you. Isn’t that obvious?”
“No.”
“Well then, I better try harder.”
