“Fuck that.” Daniel shook his head.

Yeah.

“You still should’ve said something.” Blake uncrossed his arms and slid his hands into his pockets. “I don’t think she could’ve felt any worse than she did.”

“Trust me. He wouldn’t have held back if Lily hadn’t got the message,” Aidan said.

He knew his father. The guy was a narcissist. He didn’t care who he hurt. What he wanted to know was what his end game was. That was blunt, even for him.

“Aidan’s right. Both Andrew and Jonathan can be cold assholes when they decide on something,” Daniel said, then narrowed his eyes at him. “You’re what? Thirty-one? Why the massive urgency to get married?”

Aidan shrugged. “No idea. I need to check with Amelia. See if he’s been doing the same to her,” Aidan said.

He wondered for a moment if the man she had been seeing had broken up with her for reasons similar to what had just happened. Unlikely, as her father had just arrived on the island.

After Christmas, just a few weeks ago, she’d had another breakup.

Unless it was the same guy.

God, he didn’t know.

Aidan might tease her about being a starving artist—which was so far from the truth it wasn’t funny—but shewasa dramatic creative soul.

She fell in love, even when she wasn’t really in love. And with that came tears and heartache.

Which usually lasted forty-eight hours.

Seventy-two if she was enjoying the attention and pampering from her brothers.

He would speak to Logan and find out what the fuck was going on with their father.

Lily didn’t deserve to be dragged into it and treated like a lower-class citizen because her bank account had seven fewer zeros than theirs.

If his father wanted to throw digits around, Aidan would win.

His fortune was greater than all the men in the family. His invention reached nearly every person on the planet, and money poured into his account like a rushing river. Aidan had double-digit billions and kept pretty quiet about it.

Even Logan wouldn’t know his exact net worth.

Hell, even Aidan didn’t.

It grew every hour with interest and investment. The latter was managed by a team of people, and they were paid handsomely for their skills and confidence.

All of that could wait. Aidan needed to check on Lily.

“Where is everyone?” Jacob glanced around at the almost diminished crowd.

“Bed,” Blake laughed. “Breaking news. There is a wedding tomorrow.”

“Fuck that. Let’s head into Lahaina,” Jacob said. “The night is still young.”

When you were twenty-two, like Jacob was, the night was just beginning. The mood Aidan was in, he was on board.

“You know what? Good idea. Let’s get the fuck out of here,” Aidan said. “A few shots of tequila sound like a much better idea than dragging my father out of bed and giving him a black eye.”

“Much,” Daniel said, slapping him on the shoulder. “Have fun, boys. I’m going to take my wife to bed. Behave.”

Blake and Jacob smirked.
