Mostly.

I still have to pay attention to Todd’s smooth moves.

I mean that with a heavy dose of sarcasm. He’s not smooth and I know without speaking to him he’s a narcissist and has an arrogant confidence about him.

It’s in the way he holds himself and smiles privately, believing whatever he wants will be his. By the look in his target’s eyes, I’d say tonight he is right.

It does make me question what he’d do if someone said no to him? I know men like him. The older they get, the more dangerous they get.

And rarely get caught.

Especially when they walk around in Armani suits and Tom Ford shoes.

Unfortunately for Todd, he’s on my radar. It’s been a long week setting this up for tonight, and a lot of things must happen to get us to the finish line. So far, good old Todd is doing everything I predicted.

After breaking several laws and getting into his emails, I found a set of regular bookings at a restaurant in Hell’s Kitchen every Friday night. Breaking another law or two, I made some calls, pretending to be Agent Swift, asking if Mr. Witherspoon, a person of interest, dined with the same person.

No, they told me. He has a different date every week.

Go Todd.

Then the manager at the restaurant told me something that had me sitting back in my seat and letting out awell, shit. Then smiling.

Bless your heart, Todd. You just made my fucking day.

When I took my findings back to the Dark Kings on what we’ve called Operation Zeppelin, we laid out a plan to expose the rich boy.

It gets better.

Once Connor had all the information, he gave me access to one of his best hackers. I’m not sure if it’s because she’s Mia’s friend or he knows I’m madly in love with Isabelle—why else would I have put so much effort into his operation—but I was grateful. The guy is one of the best in the world.

This was why when we video-called Tony, he responded, “You’re joking. You know how much you pay me, right? I could do this in my sleep.”

“Then do it,” Connor ordered him. “And send Decker the bill.”

I had laughed. An hour later, we had the information, and all the pieces of my puzzle were complete.

Not only had Todd been cheating on Isabelle, but he’s also been playing her for a fool. She is personally named in his trust fund, and they must marry by her twenty-fifth birthday.

For two years.

He never planned to stay with her.

I’m not sure why, but Connor believes it could be a deal between their families. Some business or bullshit high society thing that is apparently more common than people realize.

Fuck that.

Bottom line, Todd has been using her. And this bullshit about remaining a virgin? I have no ideahowhe has manipulated her, but I knowwhy.

Todd likes men.

Right now, he’s leaning on against a bar table, twirling whisky around in his crystal glass while the unsuspecting guy laughs at his joke.

This has been going on for the last hour and my trigger finger is getting itchy. I know his dinner reservation is at nine. We should be out of here in three, two, one—

Todd stands up straight and reaches out his arm, leading the young blonde man out of the bar.

I toss back my drink, chuck a twenty on the bar, and follow. I don’t hurry. I know exactly where they are going.
