“I want to, and I will... I just need some time. There will be things and parts of my life that I can give to you easier than others. I just—can you be patient with me? Please? I promise I will tell you when I am ready. I will never keep anything extremely important from you though, like anything threatening to you or your family.” She practically begged me with her eyes for that request.

Sighing softly, I reached up and petted her head. “Of course, I am going to be patient with you, mylisichka. I will give you all the time you need, but I just hope you will tell me before I end up six-feet underground.” I chuckled softly with smile when I saw her chuckle and smile at my little crack at the end.

“I will. Thank you.” She gave me a grateful smile as she leaned in and placed her forehead against mine. “We should probably get a start on our plans for the day before we end up naked.” She giggled softly.

The sound made shivers run down my spine at how delicate and soothing it was. “Let’s go get some food in you then we’ll head out to your place so you can change and pack. Then we’ll grab some lunch before going to the jewelry store. After our outing we’ll come back here to get settled after I give you a quick tour. I won’t be able to stay with you the rest of the day though because I have some business to attend to, but we’ll have our fun once I’m back.”

I laid out the plan for the day, looking at her to see if she had any input or objections. She took a moment, her delicate face scrunching in thought. “That all seems fine to me, but why do we need to go to the jewelry store? You need a new fancy watch or something?” She laughed softly as she tilted her head and waited for an answer from me.

Chuckling, I shook my head softly as I picked up her left hand and held it up for both of us to see. “Your finger is looking a little empty as my wife.” There were no rings exchanged last night, just signatures on papers.

“You can just get me a white gold or platinum band. I don’t need anything flashy or big. I’m a simple person. Besides, with my job, I prefer lowkey. It’s always amusing watching my friends rip their gloves on their big diamond rings, and I don’t want to join that club.” She replied with a quick lopsided smile.

Even though the situation was one neither of us could have predicted, I still wanted her to be happy to have the symbol of our marriage around her finger. It was also a way for the world to see she was taken. “I still want you to be happy with what’s around your finger. Besides, this will be a temporary ring until I actually propose to you after I get you to fall for me.”

Angel deserved so much more than this quick sham of a marriage. I wanted to follow the typical tradition of being sappy, getting down on one knee and popping the question. She deserved to have an actual proposal along with a lavish wedding many would describe to be a fairytale come true.

Laughing softly, she let out a sigh. “Funny how we’re doing this all backwards. You don’t have to propose to me Kolya, we’re already married.”

“No, you deserve to have that moment in your life. I don’t care that we are married on paper, I still want to give you everything that should have happened. I want to see your eyes light up while you smile uncontrollably when I get down on one knee out of nowhere one day and spill all the sappy shit to you before asking for you to marry me. Then, I want to have an actual ceremony with you, the one of your dreams.” My Angel deserved everything, and I intend on giving it all to her.

“As long as you don’t stick the ring in my food, I’ll let you propose to me.” She laughed softly with a defeated shake of her head and smile.

“Please, I have much more class than that. Now,” I patted her bubbly ass to get up, “Kitchen.”

“Yes, sir.” She replied with an attitude and roll of her eyes.

“Keep that up and you won’t be able to walk or sit after tonight.” I chuckled deeply as I took her hand and led her to the kitchen.

“This is Anna, she’s the chef around here.” I introduced Angel to the old woman who busied herself in the large kitchen area. “She’s been our chef for as long as I can remember, anything you want just ask her.” Then, my eyes drifted to Anna who had paused her activities to greet us with a smile and small bow of her head. “Anna, this is my wife, Angel, she’s going to be living here from now on.”

“Your name suits you well my dear, you do look like an angel.” Anna smiled warmly at Angel who blushed at the compliment and smiled back.

And I couldn’t agree more with the old chef.

My little angelic wife.
