And well, then there was Viper.

He just straight up brought out the slut in me. And Ilikedit.

But hated the way he left.

Flipping on the light switch in the bathroom, I smoothed out my hair and touched up my makeup, shrugging. I didn’t really care how I looked when it came to Alex. The asshole had made me cry more times than I could count on one hand.

And yet, I still met up with him to listen to his bullshit.

Maybe it’s time to tell him that it’s over.

I turned the light off and undid the chain on the door, my car keys in my hand. I peered out, nearly jumpingrightout of my skin.

You have to be kidding me.

“What the hell are you doing?” I demanded, my eyes landing on Gunner, the prospect, leaning against the wall across from my hotel room.

“I think I could ask you the same thing since Boss said to keep an eye on you.”

“You meanstalkme?”

“Don’t flatter yourself. You’re not my type.” He rolled his eyes, his phone in his hands. “Where are you going?”

“I’m starving, so I wanted to go to that little café downtown and get some late lunch—early dinner, whatever you want to call it.”

“All right, let’s go.” Gunner waved for me to go ahead, and I hesitated, wondering what the hell it was going to look like when I had a biker tagging along to a dinner date.

And what would Viper think?

“I’m meeting someone at the café,” I said as I stepped out of the room, letting the door shut behind me.

“Great, I can’t wait to see who it is,” the tall, handsome biker fell in step beside me as I made my way to the elevator. There was something a little bit boyish about the way he looked—not nearly as rough around the edges as Viper, but still handsome.

Just not my type.

“It’s kind of a date,” I added, eyeing Gunner’s surprised expression as we both stepped into the elevator.

“And does Viper know this?”

“He made it very clear that we aren’t together.”

Which is the trend for the men in my life. None of them want to commit.

“Uh, that doesn’t mean that he’ll be happy with this,” Gunner commented as we stepped out into the hotel lobby of the Marriott. It was nice, but the bland tan color trend was less than eye appealing. “He’snotgoing to be happy about this,” he repeated to himself as I continued toward the door.

“Okay, good to know.” I pushed through the glass door, heading to the black Tahoe parked across the lot.

“Hannah, with all due respect, Ireallydon’t think you should do this.”

“You really have some great advice.” I hit the unlock button on the key fob, watching the parking lights flash in the early evening sun. “If Viper has a problem with it, he can talk to me about it.”

Or fuck me for it.

The thought of that left a tingle between my legs, but I brushed it off, reaching for the driver’s side door. Much to my surprise, Gunner grabbed for the passenger door, climbing into the shotgun seat.

“Aren’t you supposed to be riding your motorcycle and following me?” I narrowed my eyes at him. “This isn’t cool. I don’t let strangers ride in my car.”

“Ah, right, but you let them stick their dick in you. Good to know.” He chuckled, reaching for the seatbelt and strapping himself in as I rolled my eyes.
