I nodded. “I’ll take care of it.”

Her eyes looked tired. “Damian, I appreciate you trying to help, but I can’t let you pay for this. It’s not your problem, it's mine. I wouldn’t feel right about it.”

“It’s not up for discussion. You need the funds, and I have them. I’ll have my lawyer handle it.”

“I–” I could see in her eyes for a moment that she wanted to fight it, but she wanted this to be over more, so she folded. “Thank you.”

“Don’t mention it.”

She started to leave. “I saw what you’re trying to do with Horizon View.”

“And what would that be?”

“That you’re trying to save it.”

“I’m not trying to save it. I’m scoping out if its historical value would be a better investment if it were preserved.”

“Thank you Damian.” A small smile crept onto her mouth.

“I didn’t do it for you. It’s a business decision.” I responded, which was only half true.

“Whatever you say.”

I was slowly breaking her down, and she’d been much more compliant this week. Even if I was pissed at her half the time, I still got a raging hard on at the sight of her. My body couldn't seem to separate our old relationship from our existing one. As much as I could try to deny it, I couldn’t help liking the fact that she was pleased that I was looking at a workaround.

The problem was, I wasn’t sure if we truly could work around the existing building. While it at least merited a look, it was a highly unlikely solution.

In fact, the only reason I was looking into it was because I needed a plan B. I was still running round and round on the demolition timelines, and Mr. Nagamori was really being a pain in my ass. I didn’t blame him though. If I were in his shoes, I would be doing the same thing. It was good business.

The issue at hand was if Mr. Nagamori really did pull out of our deal to work with Davis Inc. It was going to fuck me over. And I couldn’t have that under any circumstances.

“Addison.”

“Yes?” She turned back around.

“Expect the building to come down, because that’s likely what will happen.”

“Okay.” She said, and I could tell she didn’t believe me.

“I’ll take you over to my lawyer’s office to get the paperwork going this evening.”

I rubbed my temples. If that damn building did come down, it was going to blow up in my face twice as big as it had before. There was no winning on this.

I was sure when I got the glorious go ahead to move forward, Addison would be right back to her insufferable attitude.

I went back to my laptop and buried myself in work. When six o’clock rolled around, I looked up, realizing the time. I gathered my things and walked out to Addisons’ desk. “Alright let’s go.”

She nodded and followed me to the elevator. We rode down in silence. This was the longest we’d been in the same room without tearing at each other’s throats in quite some time.

We went to my lawyer’s office and got the paperwork going, then I took her home.

“Thank you, Damian. I really appreciate it.”

“Don’t mention it.”

She gave me a long look I couldn’t read.

Suddenly, in the back of the SUV she slid over to me on the seat, and put her hand on my knee, sliding it up my leg. I was immediately turned on by her touch. I looked down at her, and she watched my face, waiting to see my reaction as she ran her hand up my inner thigh. I raised my eyebrows and looked at her. Her mouth parted softly, and she pulled herself up onto my lap, and slid her hand down my chest.
