“Damian–”

Suddenly, I grabbed her wrist, before she could slip her hand into my suit jacket, searching for the key she had seen my tuck away.

“Not a chance.” I gripped her wrist in my hand, and her face went sour.

“Fuck you.” She grumbled and slid back down onto the seat.

“If that’s what you want.” I said, still holding her wrist in my hand. I brought her palm to my mouth, and her chest rose and fell rapidly as I grazed her skin with my teeth.

“That is not what I meant.” She said as her eyes fluttered for a moment, and then she yanked her hand out of mine.

The car pulled to a stop outside her apartment. She suddenly looked panicked.

“Fuck.”

“What?”

“That’s Jack outside my door. What the fuck.” She grumbled and pushed the car door open.

“Hold on.” I grabbed her by the waist and pulled her back into the car, and opened my door, getting out the other side.

“What are you going to do?” She asked wide eyed, as she scrambled out of the car, anyway.

I was going to do whatever I needed to. I certainly wasn’t letting her deal with this schmuck on her own.

Addison scrambled around me, quickly taking the stairs two at a time ahead of me.

“What the fuck are you doing here, Jack?” She hissed.

“I’m just… who’s this?” Jack gestured to me irritatedly.

I reached the top of the stairs. “Aren’t you the guy that fucked the bridesmaid? Real original man.”

“Who the hell are you?” Jack responded.

“I’m the guy who’s telling you to leave.”

Addison's eyes ping-ponged between us.

“Like hell you are. This is my fucking wife.”

I stood well above Jack in height, and I gave him a slight smile, and stepped forward, prompting him to take a step away. It wouldn’t take much for me to knock him on his back.

Addison cut in, “Guys, guys, guys. Stop it. Okay. Jack, you need to leave. Right now.”

“Addy.” Jack pleaded to her.

“She said you need to leave. And you’ve got about two seconds to do that on your own, or I’ll do what I’ve been thinking of doing to you for quite some time.” I took another step forward, prompting him to raise his hands in surrender.

He quickly made his way around me and back down the stairs. “This is fucked, Addy.”

“Goodbye Jack.” She said, rubbing her temples. She rolled her eyes at me, and I almost got a weak smile out of her. She stuck the key in the door. “You can go now. I’m fine.”

I stood at the top of the stairs until Jack disappeared around the corner. “I don’t like this, Addison.”

“Well, it’s not your fucking job to care, is it? Thanks for the lawyer.” And with that, she pushed the door open and closed it behind her without a second look.

I climbed into the car and waited for Mike, who I knew had followed Jack around the corner to make sure he’d actually left.
