I open my eyes and see that the room is bathed in a soft, warm light. Trine and Misha are staring at me in awe, and even Dom looks surprised.

"I don't know," I reply, feeling a little dazed. "I just...channeled something. I didn't even know I had it in me."

Alana looks at me, flashing me a grateful smile. And just as I begin to smile back at her, I start to choke.

Alana

Idon’tknowwhat’sgoing on, but I do know that Javi is suddenly falling over and is on his hands and feet. He sounds like he’s choking on something, and I drop to my knees so I can put my hand on his back.

Not that that’s doing anything.

I can’t stop him from choking and he sounds like he’s seconds away from death.

It’s so fucked up.

I feel a sense of panic rising in my chest as I watch Javi struggling to breathe. I have no idea what's happening to him, but I know I need to do something to help him.

I look around the room, searching for anything that might help. And then I see the obsidian crystal on the floor, the one that used to be on my forehead, still glowing softly with its warm, dark light.

Without even thinking, I reach up and gently touch the crystal, feeling its energy coursing through me.

And then, as if by magic, and shit, it might actually be magic, I can feel the surge of its power coursing through me. It’s like nothing I’ve ever felt before.

I have a fighting chance.

I take a deep breath and focus all of my energy on Javi. I can see his body convulsing, his eyes bulging with terror. I can feel the fear in the room, the panic, the desperation. But I refuse to give up.

With all my strength, I concentrate on the crystal, letting its power flow through me and into Javi's body. I can sense the demon's presence still lingering in the room, his dark energy trying to cling to us, but I don't let it distract me. I’m not going to let anything distract me from helping Javi.

I close my eyes and let the obsidian crystal guide me. I can feel its warmth pulsating through my veins, its energy radiating outwards, enveloping Javi in its protective embrace.

And then, just as suddenly as it started, Javi's choking stops. His body relaxes, and he takes a deep, shuddering breath.

I open my eyes and meet his gaze. There are tears running down his face, the whites in his eyes bursting with red.

My heart aches for him. I crawl over to him, taking him into my arms. My heart beats with his, blood rushing through our bodies as I hold him close. “It’s okay,” I say. “It’s okay, Javi, you’re okay.”

He clings to me, his body shaking with sobs. "I thought I was going to die," he chokes out.

I stroke his hair, trying to soothe him. "You're safe now," I say softly. "We're all safe."

I don’t know if it’s true. I just hope that it is.

We stay like that for a while, just holding onto each other, as the others in the room look on in silence.

Finally, Javi pulls away from me, his eyes still filled with tears. "What the hell was that?" he asks, his voice shaking.

"I don't know," I reply, feeling just as confused as he does. "What was that, Dom?”

Dom looks at us, his expression grave. "I believe we just banished a demon," he says quietly. "But I've never seen anything like that before. Alana, where did you learn to do that?"

I shake my head, feeling a little overwhelmed. "I don't know," I say again, trying my best to keep my voice steady. "I just... felt something. And then it was like the crystal was guiding me. I don't know how to explain it."

Trine and Misha exchange a worried look, and I can tell that they're just as shaken as the rest of us. Fuck, maybe more. Trine might be used to it, but I don’t think that makes it any easier.

"We should get out of here," Trine says after a moment. "I don't like the feeling in this place."

We all stand up, still a little unsteady on our feet. As we make our way towards the door, I glance back at the obsidian crystal on the floor. It's still glowing softly, and I can feel its energy pulsating through the room.
