Page 74 of Taste Me

My gaze drops to resist the temptation, but I quickly realize that was a bad idea.

He’s wearing an off-white silk shirt that’s unbuttoned all the way down to the center. He must have loosened it recently, because I feel like I would have remembered the glimpse of pure male underneath.

The sleeves are rolled up to his elbows, revealing thick veins and muscular arms. And his sharp jawline has a hint of stubble, suggesting he hasn’t shaved recently.

Was he thinking about me?

Was hetalkingabout me?

Logically, I know that I must have been a topic of conversation between the brothers, but a part of me wonders if they relived the moment fate bound us together.

I’d been in a compromising position with Jasper blowing my mind, my body bare to the three of them when Kor and Zy had walked in.

They’d seen everything.

And I’d enjoyed it without even knowing who they were other than my fated mates.

I shouldn’t trust fate to be infallible, but in the moment, I hadn’t cared. All I’d wanted was to ask them to join us, and if there hadn’t been an army of undead on the way, I likely would have.

Spirits. I need to stop thinking about it.

My breath is coming in short pants now as Zy begins a chant. He sweeps his thumb roughly over my lips as if he’s trying to remove lipstick, but I’m not wearing any.

“Hurry it up,” Jasper growls.

Hurry what up?

The overdosed haze of lust only lessens when Zyran’s finished and I realize that he dispelled some sort of trance I’d been put under.

I’m not sure if I even want to know why he has a lust spell on his entryway, but given that I am his fated mate and we have yet to finalize our union, it doesn’t much matter. The pull toward him isn’t going to go away, no matter how much dispel magic he performs.

“Better, baby?” he asks.

I can still see my flushed cheeks in his glasses and the way my cleavage moves with my heavy gulps of air.

His hands are still on me, keeping the screams away just like Jasper does. The one near my face has slipped through my hairline and he’s lightly scratching my scalp.

The other has found my lower back and he’s pressed me closer to him, although I don’t think it was intentional. It just feels natural to be close to one another.

And even if he wasn’t hit with an arousal spell, fate is already doing a number on him. His erection presses against my belly, encouraging me to weaken my defenses.

“Not really,” I manage to say. My mouth feels dry and my entire body throbs.

“I’m sorry,” he apologizes again. “The spell is only activated by someone who wants to sleep with me already. It’s to make things more exciting, but also tells me if I’ve misread the situation.”

I blink up at him, not sure if I should be offended, jealous, or impressed.

He doesn’t want to ever take advantage of a female and this is his safeguard against any misunderstandings.

But this also means that he now knows I definitely want to sleep with him. While that shouldn’t be a surprise, given that he’s my fated mate, it still leaves no question about it.

“This was a bad idea,” Jasper says as he squeezes his massive arm around my middle, wedging it between Zy and me. His breath is hot on my ear when he talks, sending a shiver down my spine. “Fate is going to push this even if she’s not ready.”

Even if I’m not ready?

I’m not sure what to make of Jasper’s words, but they certainly sound like he’s already approved of his brothers.

As if his body disagrees with his statement, he squeezing the life out of my lungs as if in protest of the idea of sharing me.
