It was a traveling company, well known for their over the top productions. “You like him?” I tried to keep the question as neutral as I could, but given what I’d seen, especially during the week of rehearsals with Sloane, Ian would have to do a lot of work to change my opinion.

Will shrugged. “I mean, he was really generous with us. He came on late, and we had to rush the production—”

“Sounds familiar,” I muttered.

“But we couldn’t get it together the way you guys did. We ended up asking for him to push it back, and he did. Despite the company losing money on tickets and marketing. He pushed it back and gave us the attention we needed to make the show great. Still shorter than normal, but we did it. He was there for a few years, and I had no complaints.”

I glanced at Ash, and he shook his head. He couldn’t believe it either. “I will say that when I worked with him he wasn’t like this, but I figured it was because I wasn’t a principal and didn’t interact with him as much.”

The water in the bathroom shut off, and Sloane came out, a towel wrapped under her shoulders, damp hair dripping water on her skin. Her scent was that much sweeter fresh from the shower—and being freshly fucked. I couldn’t get enough of her.

“Okay,” Ash said, moving the phone so Will could see none of her. “You’re not looking over there.”

“Who’s that?”

“Will.”

She smiled and slipped beneath Asher’s arms to look in the camera before he could stop her. “Hey, Will.”

He laughed. “Hey, Sloane. Good to see you, but maybe duck out of frame before Asher murders me through the phone because you’re in a towel.”

She blinked, looking at Ash’s expression in the camera. He was tense, and holding himself back. Ducking back out of frame, she grabbed his hand. “Don’t go too Alpha on me.”

Ash relaxed and gripped her hand more firmly. “As I recall, you like it when I goveryAlpha on you.”

“And you saying that isn’t worse than Will seeing my shoulders?” She looked pointedly at Ash.

From the phone I heard a choking sound that was Will covering a laugh. “He’s making sure I know you’re his. Don’t worry. I know.”

Covering the camera, Ash kissed her quickly. “Love you.”

“I know,” she smirked. “I love you too.”

“Anyway. Will wants to come down for a couple days.”

Sloane started to dress—well away from Asher’s phone—and looked back. “That would be fun. When will you get here?”

“Well, that’s the thing,” Will said. “I think I can be there tonight.”

“But?”

“But,” Ash said. “He thought it might be fun if I rode out there to meet him and ride back together.”

Now Sloane had on a leotard and a sweater, so she ducked back into the camera frame. “You’re coming on your bike?”

“Yes, ma’am.”

“What do you think?” Ash slung his arm around her shoulders, holding her to his chest.

She smiled, and I loved feeling the happiness both of them had right now. Would still be awhile before I was used to it. “Why are you asking me?”

“Because I’ll be gone for the whole day,” Ash said. “And it’s still your honeymoon time.”

Sloane turned to him. “You don’t have to ask permission to see your friends, Ash.Ourfriends. It’ll be good to see you again, Will.”

“You too,” he said. “Ash has been very cagey with the story. I look forward to hearing it in person.”

“See?” Sloane said, looking up at Ash. “You don’t need permission to go somewhere.”
